Am I Nuts?? 'Ohana vs O'hana

Whenever I'm confronted by a Grammar Nazi, I always say softly, "There, their, they're".....

I agree with you all. 'Ohana is 'Ohana. But people are dumb. Lol! We own a business. Rusnik Campground. People who have stayed with us for 20 years call us Rusnicks. Notice the ck. And our roads are referred to as rows... really. A row. Not A rd as the signs say. Lol! People are dumb!

:lmao: I love the grammar police! I'm guilty of writing Ohanas once or twice before I realised it was 'Ohana lol! My biggest pet peeve is when people don't use any punctuation. Instead they use one big long never ending sentence! Bugs me so much!!

Oh boy, this is going to get shut down now. You used the other N-word and someone will get ticked off about it. Sensitive people here with such a light hearted topic.

Even though the other N-word was used in one of the funniest episodes of Seinfeld.

I predict two more pages before someone says something.

I'm not complaining. Thank you for the funny read!!!
By the way, I spell 'Ohana, Ohana. No apostrophe. Keep on judging folks. ;)

Really not meant to be offensive....and the Soup N-word was the funniest!! Loved Seinfield! My post was in light-hearted jest, and hope it's taken that way . :flower3:

Same here! Very interesting thread. I spell it O'hana. :rotfl:

I will admit, I am definitely not the best when it comes to grammer but I will say I do get annoyed when people use "their" and they should have used "there" or they use "your" when they should have used "you're", well you get the point. :p

:offtopic: On a side note, this is a great place to eat!!!!

One of my pet peeves....though not grammar related is when people call Disney World, Disneyland!! :earboy2:

That one really annoys me!!!! :headache:

My neighbor calls Disney World "Dis A ney". Drives me nuts.

That would me too! I wonder if your neighbor is seriously thinks that is how you say it?? Sometimes when I'm joking around I'll say "I'm going to Dis A ney World", that really irriates my husband. :lmao:

First post here, but I've been lurking long enough to be truly annoyed when people wish to discuss their 'dinning' plans.

These past two years having survived a car accident that almost killed me, losing my younger brother to a heart attack at 45, and watching my mother battle cancer, I guess I'm just not bothered how someone spells or pronounces a restaurant at WDW. Just me. :goodvibes

Another error that I've noticed more often is using "then" instead of "than". For example, he's bigger "then" I am.

Welcome to the Disboards showers2flowers!

Sorry for your troubles but this is a way for me to forget mine. My Mom was just diagnosed with parkinsons. My 20yo cousin passed away from cystic fibrosis recently. Her Grandmother, my Aunt passed shortly after. Ya I am not really bothered with how someone spells a word or pronounces it. But these boards help me forget the real world. While we never forget I can pretend for a while and laugh at these comments.

Ro Z,

Sorry to hear about what you have faced recently as well. Like you, often the DIS is a place of escape for me. I have had many on these boards either by pm or on a forum give some great encouragement and have even had the pleasure to meet a few folks from here while at WDW. Also like you I have laughed at many a comment on here, including this forum. But I guess I look at things differently that used to bother me. We all react differently to tragic events in our lives and how they change us. Good luck with your mother, my thoughts and prayers go out for you. ;)
