:confused3 I finally received my pin number today and hurried right to the DVC site. I couldn't wait to see what I'd been missing! But, once I got to the site, I didn't really see anything special that I didn't already know. Am I missing something here? :confused3

What were you expecting? It has a summary of perks, your current ressies and point status, some basic banking/borrowing rules, and "special offers" for DVC members, etc.

I actually have no idea what I was expecting! I just figured there would be some information on there that I hadn't heard before. But, now that I think about it, there's not much Disney info out there that I haven't already read about on the DIS boards! I guess I was expecting some top secret information or something :rotfl: Who knows? I'm a dork!

I feel your pain. I remember when I got my pin for my online banking... I was really hoping to see a lot of money, but there was nothing more to see than what was in my register. :sad2:

You said you were new, but one pleasant thing about the DVC members site is that if you are on the automatic waitlist, you may find out that it came through just by clicking on current reservations.

Also, we placed an "add on" order, and I see that it's listed. No word from my guide (she told me that they don't always tell the guides before they send the info out). However, we haven't even gotten the mailed stuff yet either.

That's how I learned I got Boardwalk View for the Food and Wine Festival. Several days later my revised confirmation arrived.

You can also get updates on new DVC perks. Personally I love visiting the member website.

I am laughing here out loud to myself. :rotfl: I did the same thing. I was so excited to get that darn pin number and I got to the DVC web site and thought "okay, that's it?". But the worst part is, I keep going back looking for something that I may have missed. :confused3

These boards are the best source of any information you might need.

I like seeing my reservation there before I get the hard copy. While I've never had a problem, it's nice to see so quickly and others have reported that they've caught errors by checking there.

It also provides a detail of every transaction you've had on your membership, so it can help you if you think the points are out of whack.

Other than that, I don't think Disney would want to communicate anything officially on that site that they haven't communicated in other means such as mailings, e-mails or VM magazine. My guess is that the site is not an efficient way to get out new information. Web sites are generally a good place to look up information, but not so good at communicating news unless linked from a prompting e-mail.
