As many of you know i am going through a painful marriage break up with divorce in progress and as from my count down you can see that i am going to Disney SOLO.

My problem, some people seem determined to put large seeds of doubt into my mind about going on my own. I have had reactions from utter disbelief to good on you. Some even making me feel like "Billy no mates".

If you had the chance to go on your own, would you.?

The poll i have created will certify my sanity......

Why shouldn't you go on your own? :confused3 Unless they are funding the trip, I say friends and family don't get a vote. Go for it! A disney fix might be just waht you need now :cool1:

No DisneyAli, you are not 'mad', (but it does help to be if you come on these boards - LOL)

You go to DisneyWorld, and have a great time. With everything that you have gone through, you deserve to have some fun, and lets face it WDW is the best place in the world to have fun

Have a fab time Ali

Go for it! Theres many people on these boards who have "gone Solo" and had a fantastic time.

Friends and family mean well but its your trip and you can do what you darn well like!

If I had no one who wanted to go with me - I would go on my own :teeth:

If I were in the same circumstances I wouldn't hestitate to go. You are a free woman therefore entitled to do as you please, you no longer have to answer to anyone!

Enjoy

As others have said, if I were in similar circumstances to yourself. I would go on my own.

Have a brilliant holiday :earsgirl:

I am with the others here - you will have a brilliant time. The only thing I would say is this: are you happy with your own company, and will you feel awkward eating / being on your own? Only you can answer this.

We saw lots of people in WDW on solo trips and it looked like they were having a fab time.

Like the others, I would not hesitate to go alone if I had noone else to go with :)

I went alone, after a trip where I couldn't have a minute to myself, for 4 days and had a great time! People are very friendly, you can have as much or as little conversation as you want!

Good on you.

Just think..

sleep when you want
eat when and where you want
go where you want

and not have to compromise!

I'm sure some of the posters here who have been 'solo' will tell you what a great time they had!

I like to think that I would do the same.

Ali, if you didn't think you could go it alone, I don't think you would have considered it - don't listen to the doubters! You should be proud of your new-found independence and your courage in handling your new situation.

I say .. good on you and you go for it girl :goodvibes !!!!!!!!!!!

If you think you can go for it, then you should. But, IMHO you won't know what it will be like until you get there. I think WDW is the last place in the world I would want to be alone.....
:sunny:

Good for you, I would go alone if I had to in a heartbeat, I think Anz who writes some of the best trip reports I have read done a solo journey last year and I am sure she enjoyed it.

You go for it, and enjoy it.

Hi all, watching and reading with great interest, keep those votes and comments coming, it is very interesting reading what other people feel about my question. thanks to all concerned so far.....

I think you should go on your own. On our last trip my DH spent most mornings flying so I would either go to the mall or the parks alone!! You see a lot of pople on their own!! Go have some fun - at least you can do what you want when you want and you don't have to consider anyone else!!!

Ali- I think it would be very liberating going on your own. Those who are doubting your choices are probably a bit envious that they don't have that option themselves weather it would be due to money or a partner or a job or what have you.

go and enjoy your self ! Why shouldn'd you ?
It sounds that you need the break
Have a ball

I did a solo trip last November (DH coudn't make it due to work) and had a great time! Sometimes you miss someone to share things with, but it's fantastic to do what you want, when you want!! If you want to ride Small World ten times: you can do it, if you want to eat churro's and then go on rock & roller coaster: you can! If you just want to sit & enjoy the sunshine: no problem!
WDW is a great place to go solo. Lots to do, CM's to talk to and it's so busy that no-one even has to notice that you're on your own if you don't feel comfortable with it!
And you get on the rides quicker as a single rider!!!!

If you want any tips, just ask.

Aruna

No your not mad  just go and enjoy yourself and forget all this rubbish for a bit :cheer2:
