I want to go to AK on a recommended day in summer crowds without using FP+ and save the FP+ to use at our second park of the day. Our main goals at AK would be the Safari, Everest and Lion King. If we get there at rope drop, would this be doable and enjoyable?

Absolutely- we do this with every park and AK is the best one of them all to do it with. It's the easiest park to manage in the mornings with no FP+ as far as I'm concerned.

It should be doable. I would do Safari first and then the Everest single rider line if you can.

I would book your fast passes--you are talking about doing three of the most popular attractions at AK. The Lion King show is approx 40 mins and the safari is about 25. If you book those 3 FP+, then leave the AK you are entitled to book additional ones at another park.

Agreed, this works awesome at AK. It works even better if you do it on an EMH day.

I will respectfully disagree. These attractions can be knocked out in relatively short order just by going at rope drop. Their FPs will be more valuable (save more time) at the second park.

I do that at least half of the time I go to AK. The only time I use FP+ at AK is if we are not going to a park after lunch (resort swim, Cirque de Soleil, etc)

You should be able to do the Safari from 8:55 - 9:20 (ish) and you MIGHT have time to do Everest before the 10 am Lion King. If not, and you hit Everest after Lion King you should not have to wait more than 30 minutes especially if you can use the single rider line.

This is from last June 8/10 crowd level day. Actual wait times (green dots) between 11-12 were around 20 minutes.

Thank you all. It seems like a waste to use FPs at AK. I imagine there wont be too many "good" FPs left for the 4th + fastpasses at the second park in the summer crowds.
