I hear everyone talking about loving this Deluxe and that Moderate. Am I just weird for saying that the ASMovies is my all-time favorite resort.

Yes, yes, I know, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles the Deluxe and Moderates have (By the way, My fav deluxe is CR and my fav moderate is POR) but, I absolutely love ASMovies.

Yes, yes, I know it's pretty far out there. Not close to anything but another AS resort.

I don't know what it is about it, but I love it, and I get to go back in Jan next year.

Just wanted to know if I'm weird or normal. Anyone else like me? :wave2:

Thanks!

Chris

Nope! You're not weird! The only reason I booked POR for our upcoming trip was because dh wanted to fish every morning so I went with the fishin' hole. I did book the Poly for me, but I can't afford to stay there all the time. We will definately be going back to ASMovies for our next trip. It's just all Disney, all the time!

If you're weird.. I must be weird too!! I love ASMovies! It's our very first onsite resort. It has lots of fond memories there... (and the not quite so fond.. but that's another story.. it has nothing to do with the resort.) This resort will always have a place in my heart. :lovestruc

:teeth: DH and I just returned from ASMo. I loved it!
After reading so many opinions posted here, I was not sure what to expect. Did I mention I Loved it?! :rotfl2:
The theming was great. The foodcourt was good. The only thing that was just ok was that we were the last stop on the busses. A lot of them were full before even getting to us. I think we will try Pop next trip. Just to see something different. We are value people from now on. :lovestruc
So, to answer your question. No you are not weird! Or perhaps we are all weird?? :rotfl2:

Even though we've stayed at every level of resorts, we've always loved ASMO too. Actually, the only 2 resorts we didn't like were CSR & GF. The value resorts are great. They're relatively inexpensive, full of theming and have the best food courts.

ASMO is actually the resort we have stayed at the most and it has always been great! We did have a problem with mousekeeping one night, but management exceeded our expectations in their handling of it. We got back to the room about 10:30 and it looked like it had been made up by a 5 yr. old. DH called the front desk and they offered to come and reclean it right then. When DH declined (because it was so late), they promised to check the room after it was cleaned the next day plus they gave us $25 off one night's stay. All we really wanted was to make sure it was cleaned properly the next day and it was.

As far as the buses go, this is the 1st time we've ever had much of a wait for them. Other times, ASMO has usually had their own bus and we never had to wait long for one.

We love it too! Nothing says "Disney" more than ASMO.

Couldn't agree more (resort wise that is.)

The whole place is magical to me. It's bizarre. Stayed at Pop a couple times, and just doesn't have the warm, comfortable, safe, Disney feeling that ASMovies has. From the room food court, to the lobby, to the pools, to the rooms, to the soap dispensers!

My kids and I stayed at ASMo for the first time this August and really enjoyed it. I thought it was a really great resort for the price. Previously we had stayed at POR with my parents, mostly because we were a group of 5 and POR was most economical. We loved POR too. I just chalked it all up to being happy to be in WDW. I think I might be able to sleep on a cot in Epcot and just be happy to be in WDW. Anyway, we loved ASMo too and would probably only "splurge" on POR if we needed it for 5 people.

I love ASMo. That's my favorite of all the values. I think it's the one value resort that really feels Disney to me.

Of course, I also love POFQ and WL... but that's another story. :teeth:

We spent our last two trips at ASMo, and we loved it too! Our son, who adored all things Toy Story last year, was totally mesmerized by the Buzz building where we stayed. I think the atomsphere is so fun!

Funny thing - we're planning a split stay between AKL and BCV next fall. It'll be our first deluxe stay. And DH's response? "Can we still drive to the All Stars food court? It's really good."

Glad to hear you all like ASMo.. We will be there from the 22nd to the 27th of this month.

10 days!! to go!!!

I am so thankful when I hear good things about ASMO. We want to take our 5 yr old DS to ASMO next May hopefully. Then I have my doubts when I hear something negative. But I have been trying to catch any thread or posting about ASMO. We would like to stay in the Dalmatian or Toy Story section. :sunny:

We decided to try POP earler this month and we just felt that something was missing. We realized that it was the ASMo that we missed. We will definitely go back to All-Stars next year.

I have heard that ASMo is the most disneyed resort among others. This is why I chose it for our very first Disney trip next month. My 2-yr dd is already very excited about the coming trip. Two questions: 1) Any suggestion on a particular building/floor in ASMo which may be a bit quieter? 2) How long does it take the bus from MK to ASMo? I heard that sometimes they have one bus just for ASMo if there are enough passengers.

Thanks for posting this topic! It's so troublesome when people "dis" the value resorts. We have stayed at ASM, Pop and ASMo and although we liked them all, ASMo is our favorite!!! With young children (ages 4 and 2) these resorts are really the best. We love the ability to come home after the parks and just get something easy and quick at the food court. Our kids are not great in restaurants yet so eating and leaving ASAP is important
We also don't mind the rooms, we had two pack and plays in there last year and it was still fine. For the bargain price we are paying for the room, I feel that it's fine. Also, since my kids are little they love the "loudness" of the resort.
It seems like the buses are one of the biggest complaints, but we get around that by renting a car. It's much easier with small kids to be able to come and go when you want rather than waiting for the bus and lugging two strollers with you. So that would be my only suggestion, with the money you save by staying at the all stars, rent a car.
:paw:

but with my kids 7,5 & 3 I really think this is the perfect first stay at WDW [plus connecting rooms to boot!]. When they're older, we'll try POR and evenutally WL or AKL and spend the $$ to do so. Less than 3 months to go. Woo Hoo.
