Am I invisible - or just paranoid?

Hello Jo and Annie, I'm now getting paranoid that if I don't post on this topic then everyone will think I'M the one ignoring people (if I ever did I'm sorry :flower3: )

:rotfl: I'm beginning to regret even starting this thread. It appears that a whole can of worms has been opened.

I think the question you made was valid and something that we have probably all felt at some point, however, I do not feel there was any cause for concern - the fact that you have had 40+ responses suggests that everything is just fine ;)

Regarding the DLRP board and it being cliqeuy - if we are cliquey then it's a clique that accepts every person that posts on there with open arms - which is pretty much the antithesis of a clique! I've never come across a board in 11 years of forum activity that is as welcoming and helpful to newcomers, and established members alike, as the DLRP board on DIS.

Well said Steve - I feel we go out of our way to welcome new members and the DIS as a whole is by far the friendliest forum I've come across. But it just goes to prove the old adage that you can't please all of the people all of the time no matter how hard you try or how good a job you think you're doing.

I have felt welcomed on both the DLP and this board and have not found either to be cliquey. The DLP board has less members so you do find some members post a lot and others not so much but I like that everyone there always tries to help. Within days of joining it another member sent me fastpasses they hadn't used for me to use on my holiday. :goodvibes

I don't visit this board as often but have always felt welcome and comfortable using it. I'm not a big 'poster' so may have read some of your posts but not responded as AlanUK said earlier I only add if noone else has already made that point and sometimes I mean to respond but caught up with other things (usually dealing with DD ;) )
The thing about forums is that threads start and end and sometimes you start them and sometimes you end them (even if unintentionally) maybe you had a little spate of ending them and now it's your turn to start them ::yes::

I agree that sometimes a post will only have one response but it answers all the questions asked by the original poster and so I don't add to it. It's nothing against the OP.

Joanne and Frances - I am very surprised to hear you call the DLP board "cliquey". Yes there are regular posters who may have a bit of banter (as on all boards, but particularly on the DLP board which is somewhat smaller) but none of the jokes are exclusive (certainly no more than any other board). There are regular posts from new members commenting how friendly and welcoming everyone is on there.

Also please bear in mind that the DLP board is (and has been for some time now) without a moderator. When Karen was moderating, she was brilliant at "bumping" unanswered posts to ensure an answer was given. Although we try our best to do this ourselves, without a moderator some posts will get missed.

Hope you will both be back on the DLP board soon.

It's ironic really, I've had more response to the comment I made in this thread than to everything else I've said in the last 6 months!

I wasn't expecting any kind of reaction - especially from those who frequent the DLP forum. I appreciate your comments but I've been feeling this way for months now so nothing's changed. I still look in and read some of the threads most days and will continue to do so.

Regards,
Joanne

LOL Wilma, I seem to do that alot too - come on here once in a while, post in a load of threads and kill them dead! Wonder if I'll do it to this thread?

Hi Everybody on the UK community Board - This is my first post here! Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year?

Dear Joanne, I am so sorry to hear how you have been feeling regarding the DLP board. Can I just assure you that I personally really looked forward to your posts and that I thought you always started quite fun threads,I remember two recently especially, if you could work at DLP, and one about famous people.Everyone is so friendly over there and I know we all look forward to everyone's posts - it doesn't matter who they are. Look forward to reading your posts soon.

And hey I like this board too - maybe you've started something?

Kaye :goodvibes

Joanne - when I met Dee in DLRP over Christmas we got talking about DIS, as you do, and we mentioned how we hadn't seen much of you on the DLRP board lately which is a shame. Far from being ignored, you were a topic of conversation on Christmas Day! We still love you :grouphug:
