 Hi everone!! I was wondering if someone might shed some light on my situation. My husband and I recently changed a 7 night Magic reservation to a 4 night Wonder cruise on January 12th. I have been reading on the boards about falling prices for the month of January. I decided to check our reservation we made through DCL and since we made the change in early December, the price has dropped $100.00. My question is am I entitled to a refund?? I am not sure if Disney makes a phone call if the prices are lowered, or if it is my responsibility to monitor any changes.

We could certainly use the $100.00 credit towards something else! I just did not know if it was customary to call DCL or not. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a goor night!!:) :D

DCL will not call you if the price drops....if you contact them and the price has indeed fallen $100.00 they normally will adjust the price. The only thing that might hamper this is because you are so close to sailing. Definiately call them and ask....it can't hurt.

I am assuming this $100.00 drop is in addition to what you saved switching from a 7-day to a 4-day.

This was one feature that I loved about Dreams Unlimited Travel. They monitor the prices on the cruises continually and automatically reduce the price if you have booked through them. I don't know of anyone else, including DCL, who does this for their customers. I have used Dreams and would use them again! :)

This happened to me last January. My TA did not automatically check for this, but once I called and said that the price had dropped, she contacted DCL and a check was mailed to me with the price difference!

We used DUT as our TA and they never called us when prices were reduced. We monitored the prices and waited for a call, which we never received. However, when we did call, they investigated and when they verified that the prices did drop they adjusted our rates.

I realize that this is my vacation and money, but if I doing all the work, why use a travel agent?

Sometimes DCL will cut prices and we at Dreams don't find out about it right away (ex. if it is just for a few dates). This doesn't happen often, but it does happen. I am happy to say that the last time they announced a special, we had all eligible cruises called in the first day of it and collectively saved our clients over $25,000.00. That is a lot of commission that we gave up and not many other Travel Agencies can claim to have done that. :) Sorry I think we earned bragging rights on that one!

If you made the reservation yourself, definitely call DCL and ask them to check your price again.

Have a great cruise!
