Am I doing the right thing???

Ok so I need some reassurance. We are planning our first trip home for our Disney wedding next September, and I'm messing with my plans now (go figure). Background is that we are taking my MIL and FIL with us, and it's their first trip to Disney so we want it to be pretty special.

Our original plan was to get a 1 bdrm at BW for the week for the 4 of us, and get a seperate room at BLT for the night before and night of our wedding. This would mean that my MIL and FIL would be sleeping on the pull-out couch.....

Fast forward to 2 nights ago when I literally decided that was the stupidest idea ever...lol. I don't want them to have to sleep on a pull out couch and share a bathroom with us for thier first trip to Disney...so I came up with a couple of alternatives:

#1 Choice - I think this one works well and I'm leaning towards it - let me know what you think....we get 2 BW studios for the trip and just give up the thought of making breakfast in the rooms (guess we'd have to eat at BW bakery for breakfast)...this saves points and eliminates the need for us to get the seperate room at BLT for our wedding night, as we will have our own room this way. I'd just get a room at BLT for the night before the wedding, as we need a 1 bdrm to have room to steam the dresses and get hair and makup done. If any of you have stayed in a BW studio please tell me what it's like!

#2 Choice - blow basically WAY too many points and get a 2 bdrm at BW for the week....don't like this one as it limits my ability to vacation the following year - I hate that!

#3 Choice - a 1 bdrm at BLT for the week - although they would still be on a pull-out couch at least they'd have their own bathroom, so it gives them a bit more privacy...I'd still need an alternative room for a night to get ready for the wedding, as my Maid of honour and "best girl" are staying with me for a girls night before we get up to get all fancied up for the wedding...

Let me know what you think please so I don't make myself crazy!

Honestly, if you're going for the dream vacation I'd go with option #2. A 2-BR unit would give you all a lot of space, each couple would have their own bathroom and you'd be able to eat some meals in the villa. Plus, it would really provide a "Wow" factor for your in-laws.

If saving the points is a priority then I'd go with the 2 studios at the BW. Again, this would give each couple space and their own bathroom.

I also would do the 2-Bdrm. You each have your own space, you can cook as much or as little as you like and the living area doesn't have to be transformed into someone's bedroom. You also have the bonus of the washer/dryer.

If in-laws are willing to help with the 'costs', perhaps you could rent or have transferred additional points into your account.

We got married at Disney last year. 2 things. If you're a Wishes bride, you get a complimentary room night that you could use for your getting ready night, so that might help with space for dress steaming and all.

The second and much more important point, no matter how much you like your inlaws, you do not want to have them in the same hotel room (separate bedrooms or not) on your wedding night! Not to mention not wanting them there for your entire honeymoon. My family and DH's family were at Disney the entire week, at other resorts, and it was still almost too much. we had a lot of fun when we were with them and we're so glad everyone had a great trip, but we had very little alone time on our honeymoon, even just to hang out in bed late and eat leftover wedding cake. We were always on the go to meet up with someone else to make the trip great for them. So, from someone who's done it, GET SEPARATE ROOMS!

get 2 studios--saves points. You still have coffee maker, toaster, microwave, fridge in each room--can't you eat toast, danish, coffee, cereal, yougurt, fruit, cheese, luncheon meat for breakfast? BW studio is a decent size and the bathroom has sink/vanity area outside of bathroom--so more space.
I agree that you need your own space--we share 2 BR with my parents all the time at WDW and it's still not the same as having your own space.

From a mother/mother-in-law perspective...I don't think I would want to run into my daughter and son-in-law on their honeymoon in a shared villa with them. I vote for the 2 studios.

You need your space from the get-go especially given the occasion. Save the sharing of the villa for another trip. jmho even 2 bedroom villa is not a good idea; I think Disneyprincess has given you some very excellent advice from her experience in similar situation.....your own space/privacy before, during and after. Go with 2 studios. At BWV it will have queen bed and pull out sofa which is nice when it is not being used because it then is great for sitting area, watching tv, etc. If you get a studio at OKW for your girls night I think you will find that to be plenty of room for your dresses to hang and for getting ready next day - - it's bathroom is very roomy and the room itself is largest studio and all will have 2 queen beds; you'd save some points too instead of getting 1 bedroom. Or something special too for you & your girls would be to book concierge DVC at Jambo House at AKV; the concierge lounge eats&beverages could be a great convenience the night before & morning of your wedding.

I agree with the way you're leaning already. I think you really, really need 2 separate rooms since it's your honeymoon. Plus, since it's their first trip to Disney, I think they will be plenty "wowed" by a studio at a beautiful resort like the BW.

LOL - this whole post cracked me up! I am an Escape Bride so unfortunately no free night

We NEVER considered staying in the room with them for our wedding night...no matter what that just seems awkward!

Thanks for all the great advice everyone - I am going to try for the 2 studios and just have yogurt/bagels/cereal for breakfasts! Or treat ourselves to BW Bakery!

I agree 100%, there is no way I would want to be included in my child's honeymoon plans. I would go with the 2 studios

Glad to hear you are leaning towards 2 studios. Sharing any room - before or after - seemed insane to me.

As for the post above - don't stress about it or play tour guide. They'll have a great time at Disney. And the whole wedding thing probably covers the "pretty special" part.
