Our plane is scheduled to land at 3:40 p.m.

We have an ADR for Kona Cafe at 6:35 p.m.

We are staying at the WL doing the Magical Express. We will be taking a taxi to the Poly for time's sake.

So, what do you think? Will we be able to make it without rushing like crazy people? :goodvibes

Thanks!

I think that you will be really rushing to make your ADR. Remeber the 3:40 is the scheduled landing time, not even gate time. You will still need to taxi and get to the gate, take the internal monorail to the main terminal and get ME. I have seen that the average time to arrive at your hotel with ME is 70 minutes, from check in at MCO to your hotel. You will also not have your luggage in this scenario. If you want to be able to change for dinner, add at least 20 minutes to claim your own luggage before heading to ME. Then you need to check in to your hotel - there is most often a line and a wait to do this too.
All of these are if there are no delays at all. Flight arrivals are delayed all the time.
Maybe I am just a worry wart, but I would not try something that close.
Have a Great Trip.

I would say yes you are cutting it too close! We arrived late at night and it still took 90 minutes to reach our hotel room. We were also the first stop made by the ME bus. I would make a later ADR and then if you happen to have Pixie Dust and get through ME and check-in quickly then show up early and see if they can seat you. Otherwise you can explore the Poly resort...

From what I had read here and by talking to the Disney CM on the phone, you are real close. We arrive @ 5PM and was making a ADR for Narcosees @ 6:30 and the CM told me to give at least 2 hours between landing, ME to the resort, checkin and travel time to the rest. So now the ADR is for 7:55PM....that plenty of time for those un-yet-known issues that always seem to pop up on travel days.....

This is not correct. If a flight is scheduled to arrive at 3:40, that means it will be at the gate at 3:40, not that it will land at 3:40.

In the original post, the OP has almost 3 hours from arrival time to ADR time. I think that is doable, provided flights are on time and ME is not delayed. To avoid concerns if things start to run late, I would schedule a later ADR time, just to be safe.

Thanks for the clarification, I always thought it was landing time - and I fly a fair amount.
Sorry for the misinformation.

you can make it ...IF everything goes smoothly and according to plan. Any delays in any point and you won't make it. Why stress? I would move the adr

3:40 is the schedule time that they plan on opening the door of the plane, so it better be at that gate. :rotfl: Many times there is padding in the schedule so you could get lucky and be at the gate early.

There is no late cancel penalty at Kona, so if you find yourself running short on time just call WDW dining and just cancel. No need to run around like a crazy person on your first day to make a dinner. Have a backup plan. My backup plan would be just eating a QS meal poolside with cocktails. :drinking1:thumbsup2

Considering you have almost 3 hours, I think you'll be fine. But as someone else mentioned, why not just push the ADR back a little bit?

I think you might make it. But, I will say that we learned awhile ago that we don't like to have an ADR on our first day. Even though we take a very early flight and check into our hotel around 10:00, we won't even make a dinner ADR anymore. I like to be able to just crash at any point we want to. That said, we always do an 8:05 breakfast ADR for the next day because we know we'll be rested and ready to go.

Okay, I called and got a later ADR for 7:10 p.m. Now that might STILL not be giving us enough time, but I'm hoping and we'll be starved! If it doesn't look like we'll make it, I'll call and beg for a later seating. :goodvibes And yes, there is always the bar to sit at and wait!
It takes minutes to get to the Poly by taxi so that is one thing in my favor.

Thanks for all your input! How much do I LOVE these boards??? :thumbsup2
