for still wanting to stay at POP??

I'm planning a girls only trip for my mom and I in October. As our first on site visit I thought it would be nice to ease ourselves into Disney with something simple. And I absolutely love the theme of POP. I honestly believed if they raised the price, added a couple of water slides/hot tubs, and a TS restaurant it could be a Mod!! I've been getting myself so psyched up reading review after review, looking at Youtube video after video, etc.

But I just received a 20/30/40 off pin....and my mind immediately went to "Which Deluxe should I book?!" But...for some reason none of them are exciting me that much The only ones I really like are Poly and WL. Maybe the CR.

Please tell me I'm not crazy for wanting to take POP over a deluxe

ehhhh I don't think you're crazyy, but I think I would take deluxe over pop.

For me POP just feels like home for some reason..maybe cause I never stayed at a deluxe but I think I would LOVE poly.

Well.......how old is your mom? Would she like the Pop? Would she prefer the convenience of a monorail and/or boat transportation system? You want this to be a special trip for the both of you. Is Mom a food court kind of gal or would she like more pampering? Frankly, I would never take the Pop over the Poly. But, to each his (or her) own. That's why Disney offers so many choices. Whatever you choose, have fun!

Pop is my idea of hell. A deluxe may not suit you either, that is the beauty of Disney, something for everyone. The bright colours give me a headache, not the fact it is a value.

She's a pretty young looking and acting 40 lol! I'm sure she would prefer the Poly as she is NOT a food court gal. And she would definitely enjoy the extra bit of pampering...the convenience of the monorail is whats pushing me towards Poly. Not to mention its absolutely gorgeous!

I can see how it could a bit much for some. I may just have to make a visit or two over to POP during the week to get my fix

I enjoy staying deluxe. Like the queen beds and location of the deluxe hotels. BUT....I also really enjoy Pop! It is a fun resort and I'm over 40.

I can see in the pictures how it looks a bit over the top loud but when I'm there it just seems fun.

I don't find it as CRAZY as some folks here seem to find it.

We only stay at Deluxes or POP. Mods do nothing for us.
We stayed at POP our last 2 trips and LOVED everything about our stay. (Previously we have stayed at the Poly, AKL, CSR and POFQ).
We received a 40% off PIN and booked AKL. We are very excited! But part of me is really sad and will miss POP a lot.

Yes the queen beds and ESPECIALLY the location are a major draw. Especially the monorail resorts. But the POP just looks so fun! (sigh)

With the pin go deluxe u can ALWAYS go to POP or a mod while u have the pin DELUXE BABY

I really enjoy Pop! That's where we're staying in May, and I had originally picked a deluxe resort. And I'm 40!! I don't really like the decor of the Poly...too 70's for me. The landscaping, pool and location are awesome though! Can't beat a monorail resort for convenience....now if they would only build a moderate or value monorail resort.....yea, keep wishing!!

I have my heart set on POP for next year. I have an 8 year old daughter and the theming is brilliant for younger kids IMO. However if I got a pin or there was a good discount for the Poly it would be a no-brainer - I would go with the poly!

If you're crazy I am too. I have absolutely no desire to stay anywhere but a value. When QSDP was being offered to the values and DDP to the mods, DH asked me to run the numbers for a mod it might be worth it. I didn't want to and was so happy it wasn't going to save much if anything (can't remember now.) Anyway, we all love the All Stars. We do want to try POP sometime but my grandparents go with us and they want to stay at the AllStars so we are staying there, but we love it there so much. We ull in and we feel like we are home.

I always say that if I won the lottery tomorrow I's still stay value, I'd just stay a lot longer.

We've stayed in many other places but I've settled on Pop because it is so much fun. The theming is great and the pools are nice. The center food court is also alot of fun!

Yep, that is why we decided against DVC. The rooms are amazing but we missed the Disney feel. When we told the guy why we were passing he was shocked and said he had never heard that before. We like the over the top Disney feel.

My new favorite deluxe is Animal Kingdom lodge. With your discount pin, you could get a room at a great price for a deluxe. If you think however that your Mom might prefer a monorail location, then how about a true splurge at Grand Floridian. If that is too much splurge, the rooms at Wilderness Lodge cost the same as AKL, and they have a boat that takes you right to MK, so you could still access the monorail resorts. Have fun planning!
