As I mentioned earlier, we are going for one week in june, there are four children ranging from 3 to 15, and two adults. Our trips in the past, Ive always come back with more cash than expected..meaning we spent less than we took. I dont know the averages for what we spent, really..ANYHOO, cash is running lower than expected and we will probably be taking about 1200 bucks cash. We have no dining plan, but we will have a van, and expect to eat at both the resort, and around town..i.e.mcdonalds, etc..our whole 7 days wont be exclusive to disney, although the room is there..wondering if we'll make it on this 1200 for food and knick knacks..we dont usually go over board paying for special events, our tickets are our entertainment.
any opinions?

thats like, 27 bucks a day per person food and everything else. it would not begin to cover us. maybe you guys dont eat much or buy any suvies, drinks during the day, ice cream bars, popcorn, etc. good luck.

well, realistically, the first day we check in about 4 pm. if i drop 200 bucks by nightfall, ill be surprised.
the little ones do tend to split meals. we dont do many sit downs, if any. we didnt buy a lot of souvenirs. we plan on going to wal mart to purchase snacks and water,etc..one full day will be spent at a friend's house..but i am getting a little worried..

Only you know how you and your family eat and spend, etc...

BUT lol.. here is my thought.

I am going in less than three weeks and have $1200 cash set aside for gas and souvies for 7 nights and 8 days. We are on the ddp and I am worried about only having budgeted $1200 for the four of us (2adults and 2 kiddos).

Its probably do-able...but would require a lot of meal splitting and strict budgeting. I was very tight with our funds last year at Kings Island and came home with more money than expected...but I was like a broken record, NO NO NO was basically what I said throughout the day. I will NEVER be like this again while on vacation...it really spoils the fun.

At the same time I would also do what Id have to do to go to Disney :) That includes severe budgeting, splitting meals, etc...

Im sure it can be done, just plan very thoroughly. The groceries from wally...are these included in your budget or seperate?

You said you are making a stop at Walmart. I would buy breakfast products to eat in the room. You could also buy one of those styrofoam coolers for your room. I think you will do fine with the amount you have budgeted. Last year we only did one sit down, and all other meals were CS or mcdonalds, wendys and so on. Plus we had breakfast stuff in the room.

Good luck :)
