Am I crazy???

Hello! I need to see what you all think....okay, here goes...my family 'n I live in Kansas. We are crazy about Disney. We, for some stupid reason, decided to have a low key vacation and rented a condo. in Panama City Beach, we leave next Friday. Well, now the kids 'n I are really regretting our decision. How can we be in Florida, and NOT go to Disney!!! We have 4 kids, 11,9,4, and almost 1. The main reason we didn't plan a big Disney vacation this year is because of the baby. Didn't wanta drag her around too much (a week or longer) in the parks. So...I have been beggin my husband to head to Orlando after we leave Panama City, for a couple days, probably three days. We are driving, so we are flexible and we have another week of vacation, so it would all work out. We also just found out that military gets one free ticket and up to 5, 5 day tickets for $99...CAN'T BEAT THAT! Soooooo...am I crazy??? My husband thinks I am...But I LOVE Disney, as do my kids. I found a hotel for $50/night, it's actually a villa, w/kitchen, etc. at The Palms...so, we could get 3 nights, and four tickets for a couple days all for about $550....that is awesome!!!! What would you all do????

Have you checked out the Comfort Inn LBV? It is in Downtown Disney. They are having some great deals there right now. Plus you get a free breakfast and shuttle to the parks.

BTW, you are not crazy. Go. My kids loved Disney at age 1. Take your own reclining stroller and if your baby gets too tired, let her nap in the stroller.

Not crazy!!! Go for it!!!! I was going to California for a Monday business meeting last year and was taking DH to spend the weekend before the meeting, and I decided the night before we left that I couldn't get that close to DL without going, so I got on the computer, bought tickets, and we did a speed tour of both parks in one day and had a wonderful time!!

ohh.. i know for military (if you dont already know) that you can get shady green as your hotel. and if that was booked you can stay at the disney resort and get up tp 40% off. thats what we are doing.

and getting the 5 days for $99 isnt insane its just saving a nice amount of money and having a bunch of fun

You're asking US???!! Come on now, you KNOW what we DISers are going to say: "Of course you are not crazy and you should go as long as it will not impoverish you and your children. The only crazy people are those who do not acknowledge WDW as the center of love and harmony for the universe." Get that DH convinced!

My thoughts - What are you waiting for?? My nephew went (our fam trip in 2006) and he was just 14 months old and had a great time.

GO FOR IT! You being military get wonderful benefits so what a cost savings.

I don't think you're crazy...but I just went through a similar thing a few months ago. I had plans to take the kids to Ft. Lauderdale for a week, and I had the exact same, "But how can we be in FL and NOT go to WDW?" thoughts....and the 4/3 deal was so good, and our Disney Dream Rewards will cover most of our food.....and airfare was better than last year (even with flying into one airport and out of another!)....so needless to say, we're spending a week at WDW before we head to Ft. Lauderdale.
