I have booked a trip for my family for Dec 6-13 08. When I first booked this trip there was 4 of us. Since then I have found out I am pregnant. The baby will be around 4 months old during this trip. I still want to go for the other kids who are 5 and 8. I have us booked at pop. We have stayed there once and we loved it. Well now I am worried that it will be to crowded with the baby. We could go up to a moderate but they really are not that much bigger in my opinion.
What do you guys think, am I nuts to have us all in such a small room. I think my main fear is during the night. If the baby is not on a sleep schedule and waking everyone. I am sure that would happen in any room right?

I don't think you are crazy! In 4 months, your kids will be "used" to the new baby, and unless your home is very large and they can't hear from their rooms, the will be used to sleeping through the baby's cries. (My kids may be unusually sound sleepers, but they don't wake up for much of anything!)

I would be more coincerned about YOUR lack of sleep. Disney days can be exhausting, and you will need the rest. I would build in plenty of down time in to the schedule so you don't wear yourself out.

Congrats on the new baby, and enjoy your trip!

I guess you are right about the kids. They will be hearing the baby cry all the time anyway.:) I had not even thought about me. I guess I will have to get in shape very quickly:eek:

How about looking at renting points for a 1 bedroom villa? You could put the bigger kids on the fold out, and have the baby in the bedroom with you. It is usually much cheaper to rent points from a DVC member than to reserve it as a regular room.

I the main reason I chose a mod as first choice was because it's slightly larger and the fridge is included at no extra cost (a must for me when traveling with a baby).

In December, we stayed at OKW in a studio (2 queen beds and lots of room) which has a kitchenette: microwave, fridge, and small sink. Rented points here on the DIS boards! PS: we were very near the South Point Road bus stop; first stop to get on, second stop to get off. Also, ask for a first floor so you don't have to deal with steps/stroller.

Well I just changed my reservation to CSR. I figure the room would be a little bigger and we do get the fridge. I would love to stay at one of the villa's but they are just out of our price range with a new baby coming. I am not sure if my new choice is going to be any better then the value but i guess it is the best we can do right now. Maybe some great code will come out and we can move up. Who knows. Wishful thinking, right.:goodvibes

Two years ago we stayed at the Poly with our then 4, 3 and 5 month old and it was just fine. At night the kids were so tired that they never woke up when the baby cried. A couple of nights when the baby woke up I went into the bathroom to feed him so he wouldn't make too much noise but he was tired too so right back to sleep.

I think you will be fine. Just have dh take the kids out of the room if you are going to to naptime in the room. Also, your little one is probably the easiest b/c s/he is portable, will sleep anywhere and doesn't talk back :rotfl:

We are heading to Disney World in two weeks with our FOUR kids...7, 5, 2 and 3 months. We did get a 2 bedroom in BW this time b/c we are taking a sitter for the first half of the week so we will see how it goes. So excited!!
