You know what, I agree with the pastor. Natural things like beaches, forests, mountains, etc should be free for all to enjoy.

So, then you believe it's okay for a pastor to be dishonest and lie?

??????????? It IS stealing! It is stealing use of the beach. They are taking something! They are taking a day of entertainment from the beach. They are taking the time of the lifegaurds, the maintainence and cleaning people and not paying for it. They are "taking " space on the beach! They are directly taking profit from the organization that runs the beach. It is nothing but stealing.

The paying for beach usage thing is common in New England. Other parts of the nation may find it odd, but that is how they do it. The taxes are lower that way and only people actually having the good fortune to go to the beach are paying for the upkeep. Some actually view this as more fair than free beaches which would be kept up with taxpayer money. Also, (which I think is the case here) many beached are privately owned. This is land that belongs to a private entity and they can charge for use of it just a movie theatre can charge for use of their building. And to use either without paying IS TAKING SOMETHING WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT. Anyone that does not teach their children this very basic rule of ethics is doing their children and society a disservice.

And the pastors justification is RIDICULOUS! My backyard is a natural forest that God created. But I own it. It is not free for anyone to enjoy. If someone wants to use it for something, they can pay me.

agnosticism supports that there is inconclusive evidence that any god or diety exists, and that by virtue 'they' are unable to come to a decision. athiesm is blatant, absolute and positive in the denial of any god or diety's existence-'they' have reached an absolute decision.

I feel the pastor is wrong and to involve others in his wrongdoing is even more wrong.
But then again, I remember going to the drive in with my boyfriend and paying for two. the other couple was in the trunk.
And although I have never done it because my boys were 4, 6 and 8 when we took our first trip to WDW, how many people say their 3 year old is 2.
It's all the same, stealing. And if people didn't try and cheat the system the "system" wouldn't have to raise the prices.
