Am I crazy to think I will eventually win?

The only thing that is for sure is that if you DON'T enter you will never win, so enjoy the dream and I hope you get lucky!

Last year I played the game on the DCL web site every day. I loved it and it was a lot of fun. Even after I had collected all of the "prizes", I still kept playing because I enjoyed it and DH would laugh at me. Then to my delight and DH's utter surprise, I won one of the cruises. He doesn't pick on me any more.........

If your name is chosen they usually send you an email or call. I had an email and almost missed it. We were on vacation and I came home sick and didn't check my personal account for a couple of days. I found the email the day before my deadline to contact them. I almost had a heart attack that I had almost missed it. The email didn't come from Disney, it was from an independant agency. Once they verify you can accept the prize then Disney will contact you. Check your junk folder too. I verified it was real by reading the rules of the drawing and the company doing the drawing was listed there.

In 2000, I tried winning one of those "be the 25th nationwide caller when you hear the song of the day" for about a week and actually won. I won $10,000 on April 25, 2000. It was my 23rd birthday (which is where the "425" part of my screen name comes from). :goodvibes

Good luck! pixiedust:

You can't win if you don't enter, right :thumbsup2 I sent in a postcard every day for a year during the Year of a Million Dreams, didn't win a trip, but I did enjoy getting quite a few lanyards/pins/ear hats in the mail. I think I won about 8 prizes :goodvibes I say go for it!

Me too. I was so bound and determined to win the DVC Time Share. I knew a prize like that would be won on the post cards. A DIS member ended up winning the prize and came on the boards and told us about it. He showed us pictures and kept us up to date. I sure as heck hope he wasn't lying, by why lie about something like that. He posted on the sticky that the DIS had up for "Winners of a Million Dreams"

Crazy, no.

Realistic, no. Someone has to win, but odds are, you'll manage to save money and take a trip before you ever win.

Also, people should be cautious. Most sweepstakes are marketing ploys to farm data - it isn't bad, but it does mean that your email will get junked up and "they" will have even more data on you. Some are scams to get you to buy a timeshare or some such nonsense. A very few are outright identify theft fishing expeditions.

I have a "junk" email for that reason. And I'm careful about what i enter :)

Have fun entering! Just be sure you are not spending so much time entering contests that you are missing out on life right now. IMHO. Good Luck!!

I won a trip to Universal and a stay at Nick hotel back in 2005. My sister won a trip to LA there, too. If you're in it, you can win it.

Seriously, though, I'm a sweeper (a person who enters sweepstakes) and I've won about $50,000 worth of prizes in the last 5 years. Just won a trip to a town in Texas that I'll use for our anniversary. SOMEONE is going to win. In a liklihood it won't be you, but it COULD BE.

How much time do you spend daily or weekly sweeping?

I spend less than 10 mins each day doing it. And I do it first th g in the morning while I'm feeding my LO & can't hardly open my eyes anyways. LOL

I won a trip to WDW in 2011 from a Radio Deliah show sweeps i found on Mousesavers.com! With my DH back in school, the only way i was going to Disney that year was if i won it! My DS would give me a hard time every morning when he saw me entering sweeps, "You know the odds of winning, right?" Well he is a believer now! We got to stay at the Polynesian in a theme park view and i was in heaven!

I keep trying but haven't won any more trips. I have won several movies, giftcards and concert tickets though.

So every day I diligently enter sweepstakes to win free Disney/Disneyland vacations. My husband picks at me about it, but I truly believe if I enter long enough, I will eventually win a free trip! The way I see it is that it takes a max of 5 mins and this would be the only way we would go back anytime soon since we have a LO and plan to wait to go again. :confused3

Does anyone else share these "crazy" dreams? I think I mostly want to win because I'm so frugal I'd love to get a free WDW trip. That'd be the icing on my frugal cake! :cool1:

You go girl. I have a friend at work who hobby is entering every single contest she can. I swear she has it set up like a part time job. She spends a lot of time and energy doing to. But you know what? She wins! She's won TV's, concert tickets, and trips. One trip an all paid trip to the US Virgin Islands for her and her husband.

I know I don't have the patience or the energy to keep up with doing it. But if you do I say more power to ya.

I'm part of the crazy club too:wave2: I have not won anything big yet, but enter every day.

I am impatiently waiting for tomorrow morning when a local radio station draws the winner of their Disney cruise! I was one of the daily qualifiers to be drawn from and there are only 40 qualifiers!!:cool1:Definitely the best odds I've had in any sweeps I've entered.

Sending pixiedust: to all fellow DISers that enter contests!!

I enter sweepstakes too. I usually enter for about a hour a day while my DH watches tv. Right now I'm on a huge winning streak- over $30,000 in prizes in the past 3 months including a trip to Orlando, a $500 grocery store giftcard, a $1,000 department store gift card (Christmas is paid for), a big green egg grill and a $22,000 trip to Australia for all four of us (definitely a big check on my bucket list) but the 6 months before I hardly won anything. I figure it doesn't hurt to try and it's great to win!

I won a Hawaii trip because of the budget boards here. A bunch of us won free hotel stays in a contest.

I get on streaks where I enter contests all of the time. Then I lose steam, then I start again.

My friend is a contest hobbyist. She's won a Disney cruise, a huge TV (back when thin TVs just came out and were over $5k, a trip to L.A., and many, many little things like iPads and the like.

So, you can win. You just need to enter a lot of contests.

Little update!!!! Yes, you can win! I just got the call from the radio station and I won the cruise!!

I don't know how I am going to focus on work the rest of the day.

Now I have to figure out how to break the news to my DDs.
