I just returned from WDW at the end of May. My best friend just called me last night to tell me that she and her son(9) along with her Aunt are going to WDW -leaving next Friday July 29th for a quick weekend trip. Well by the time that we got off the phone I was going with them. I already got my plane ticket. We are leaving Friday and returning Monday. We are only going to MK and Epcot as they also want a day to go to Sea World. This is my BF's first trip in at least 15 years and her DS has never been. My question is, am I totally crazy for jumping in on this quick trip to WDW??? I have never been before in July and I know that it's going to be extremely hot and probably pretty crowded on top of that. Because it's their first time we will probably go at a slower pace and not hit as many attractions as I am used to but it was hard to pass up the chance. :hyper: Anyone else ever done anything like this?

I say you'll have a wonderful time. You've been before- so they'll be lucky to have your insight. Have a great trip!

No you're not crazy, just very lucky! :cool1: I would have jumped at the chance too! Have a great time and don't worry about the crowds, just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy every moment. :teeth:

Not crazy at all!!!
All I want to know is if I can come??!! hehe!! :sunny:

Mike :cool1:

Last summer when the Repblican Convention was in NYC my DH was forced to take the week off from work. On saturday I convinced him to get in car and drive down for the week ( we had just got back from a June Disney trip ). We made the res on saturday and Sunday at 5am we woke the kids up and said guess where we are going. It was in between hurricanes and the place was emoty. It was our best trip ever. Being sponteanous keeps you young!! Have a great trip!! :jumping1:

Nope, been there done that.....as the saying goes....and going back!!

Last year was our first year as AP holders. We bought them because we had a trip booked in May, and another in December. Well, the beginning of August came, and DH said "I need a vacation NOW" I had the next week off anyways, and he rescheduled work. We were looking everywhere, Old Orchard Beach, Atlantic City, Ocean City Maryland. It was so $$. He said "call Disney and see what that cost would be" So, with the AP discount, Ap's already in hand, and we had a jet blue credit.........off we were!!!

It was great. I loved the spontanaity of it. Although, I love the planning, too!

Have fun!!!

I'm planning my trip for May 2006. Since you went this past May, can you tell me how the weather was and how busy the parks were. This will be our first WDW trip! Thanks!

I have gone in May 2004 and May 2005. May 2004 we went about a week and a half before Memorial Day and the crowds were extremely low. We did not wait more that 10 minutes to get on a ride-35 minutes during peak times for the more popular rides, and the weather was excellent. This past May we went the week before Memorial day and came home on the Friday beginning Memorial day weekend. The crowds were slightly larger but not enough to affect anything. The wait times for rides were still really good and the weather was still nice :goodvibes

Honestly some of our best trips were just like that!! have a great time and be thankful that you have the ability to do it!!! (P.S take a hand held fan... it's hot!! :sunny: )

go and have a great time!!! I went one year at Christmas time and when we got home my DD said that she wanted to go with her twins in March and did I want to go!!She didn't have to ask twice!!! My friends thought I was crazy but then...............!!!!

Don't second guess yourself.... you know that you want to go have fun...so do it. Just make sure that you stop off here and pick me up to go with you. LOL It's not like I'm jelous or anything!!! :rotfl2:

Have a great time!

We were just there June 3rd for 8 days. When we came home we noticed our AP were going to expire at the end of July. So we said why don't we just go up for the weekend and renew them. Yes I know I can renew them my mail or over the phone. So we are leaving tomorrow for a quick 2 1.2 day trip to WDW. :rolleyes1

I am notorious for last minute trips. How fun that you can arrange it. Have a great time!

hey i'll be there on saturday! lol. no i don't think you're crazy. i've never been before in July/August either. i've been in April once and in December twice but i think you have to go during the summer at least once.
