Am I alone in disliking...

Thanks All! Glad to hear all opinions. I wonder if we'll love our dinner at the Castle quite as much, but will certainly give it a try.

Mackey Mouse, just wanted you to know that we do not drink alcohol either. I found when I reply to servers that I have an allergy to alcohol, they back off pretty quick. BTW, we have nothing against social drinking at all, just really do occasionally have a reaction to it.

I don't like it either, we simply decline having the photo taken to begin with ususally. I wish instead that they would give you a number at the time the photo is taken, and let you go to a booth or stand at your liesure to look at them and decide to purchase or not. It also bothers me that they waste so much paper/chemicals printing packages up that they end up just throwing out.
Anne

Exactly my thoughts. They waste so much.

We went on Saturday the 12th and did not get our pictures for free. I had to pay $30 for it. It is a really cute picture of DD though. Ours was in a big folder with a picture of the castle on the left side and a picture of DD and Cindy on the right. It also came with 4 smaller pictures. I also got suckered into the $30 pic at the Princess Storybook breakfast. Darn DD for looking so cute

Amy
Thanks for the update.

Perhaps they can lock the front door of the place and do a DVC presentation with a rep spending time at each table.

No flaming from me.. I do not like any pressure when I am on vacation..

One other thing I do not like, since we are on the subject, is feeling pressure to purchase wine, exotic drinks etc, when we do not drink....and I have had waitresses give us a look because we say we do not drink. I guess they think the more you drink, the higher the check, the bigger the tip....I always tip well as my Mom was a waitress my whole life, but I hate feeling that I have to make excuses as to why I do not want to purchase alcohol when we are out to dinner in a nice restaurant... I really dislike that..

Actually, I have been pressured into buying drinks, period. I am a water drinker, not really into soda or coffee or anything else, unless I feel like it. Most CMs are ok with that, but the past two experiences I've had at LeCellier have been very awkward. CMs kept pushing me to get a beverage and kept asking during the meal, about 5 times.

I find the photo thing annoying as well, though I have yet to experience it at Disney. I would find it especially annoying DURING a show.

We just avoid the photo taking experience all together. If they do manage to hunt us down, we just say no thank you. Works great and we aren't bothered during our meal.

FYI, that picture is not the author of the post. That is Goran Visnjic. He plays Dr. Luka Kovac on ER. Isn't he pretty?? :) :) :)

Thanks for clearing that up lol. As for him being pretty well I am a male so it would be hard for me to say lol. I will say that the girl from the new Herbie movies is very pretty * Blushes *

Oops! Sorry FlowersChild!! :)

That's okay lol, also as long as we are on the subject of male and female I want to also say that Flower the Skunk is a male as well. You see a lot of people think Flower is a female skunk because of the name Flower and also because some think this skunk looks like a female. Even cast members at Disney have thought that this was a female skunk lol >

I decline to have my photo taken before meals. I don't like being bothered to purchase something during my dinner. It's not that I feel pressured so much that I just find it an annoying distraction.

(I knew Flower the skunk was a boy. :teeth: )

The ones at CRT right now are $30. That includes four 4x6s, a larger print and a larger picture of the castle. The larger print is an odd size, its not an 8x10 and not a 5x7 either. It could be mounted in a matter into an 8x10 frame though. We had our picture taken there on 11/13. We bought the package because this was a trip taken with all my ILs and it was the only time we had a picture taken of ALL of us where we all looked mostly OK, LOL!

They brought the photo to the table and we were busy with princess interaction at the time and told them we needed time to think about it and come back later. There was no pressure to buy, but they did check on us a couple times.

At Chef Mickey's a few days later we bypassed the family photo and asked to just have DD4's photo taken. We looked at it, but it wasn't a good photo, so we didn't even ask how much it was. At the Epcot lunch a couple days later they took a BEAUTIFUL photo of DD and Ariel and I was severely tempted, but we have aboout 40,000 beautiful photos of DD, so we again declined. I felt no pressure at either place.

I too thought that these changes were coming in Feb. I have a ressie in Dec. and I'm hoping that Cindy will still be coming around to the tables. Is this not the case?? If not there may be a open ressie on the 21st for breakfast. :guilty:

Right now Cinderella is in the lobby and does not circulate with the other princesses. Sorry. FWIW, my DD4 was not bothered by this at all. We had a nice meal there. But in general, I think that the princess interaction is better at Akershus in Epcot.

Cindy will not be doing rotations any more. But I don't think it will change your dining experience as the princesses upstairs are on a timed schedule and can not always spend as much time as they would like with each table. So you may get a bit more with cindy downstairs. Have fun!

I had it with the picture takers when I asked to only buy 1 picture out of the package. My kids dont constantly need to be reminded that they have no grandparents, aunts or uncles to give the pictures to. The cm refused of course. Now when we go to chef mickeys I just tell dh to tell them we do not wish to have our picture taken. We will be there dec. 3rd so I know we will have to deal with this again. I figure they are losing all the money by not even trying to sell seperate components of the package and don't even get me going about how much garbage they are creating, products they are wasting etc by all those who do not purchase.
