Always the same resort or try them all?

I've been discussing this same thing with my DH.

The first time we went to Disney we stayed at Shades of Green (via my FIL). We really liked it there. The transportation was nice. We liked the Evergreen bar, etc. But, it was horrible trip because we were with my in-laws and said we'd never go with them again. The next time we went to Disney we stayed at the Contemporary. I had made the reservations about a year in advance and the whole time my DH was so grumpy because we weren't staying at Shades of Green. Even as we were pulling up to to the Contemporary he was acting like a baby over it. Well, by the time we left the Contemporary, my DH was saying "do we really have to leave" and "let's stay here next time", etc. Well, of course we a 3rd time and did stay at the Contemporary and we liked it.

I'm sort of ready to move on. I suggested we try the Animal Kingdom Lodge next time, but my DH is not to thrilled by it. I know if we stay there we will like it. One of the reasons my DH likes the Contemporary so much is because of the monorail and the very short walk to the monorail. And we do spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom.

Oh well, I don't have to make my reservations for a few months yet, so I still have time to work on DH.

Oh try them all, definitely, and I'm almost there! After our next trip in Nov at WL I will only have these left until PC opens:

GF - saving for anniversary trip 2005
BC
Dolphin
OKW
Ft Wilderness
SOG - don't see any way of getting into this one :(

We've only ever duplicated AS Sports but it was just for one night and it was all we could get. We keep talking about where we'll go once we've done them all. First on our list will probably be back to the YC where we first stayed as a family. The kids want to repeat the ones they did when they were so little they can't remember them now!

We've had AP's for 2 years and have stayed at every resort except for OKW, FW cabins, Dolphin, and PC. Every time I stay at a new place it's my new favorite!

I have stayed at the Treehouse, Boardwalk Inn, Fort Wilderness trailers ( 5 times ), ASM ( twice ), and POFQ. Each vacation was unique, all of them wonderful. Our next trip is at AKL, so I am pleased to see how many people love it.

Ive been at the GF, Poly, YC , akl, FW cabins and the WL. My husband has been there for business and has stayed at many of the others. I love the WL and would always stay there but my DH wants to change so he does not get bored. I think next time we will be in the CR. I told him I want to be in the tower.

I have only stayed at AS Sports but will be trying POR in Feb.
I would like to try a deluxe next, Poly or BC maybe.

We are planning on staying at all of the onsite resorts as possible. We started with ASMo, then to Ft Wilderness to camp, then to POR, and this January we will be staying at the new Pop Century. We are already planning our next trip for December '04, and we are thinking of hitting up the AKL or Poly.

I'm for trying them all. I have not stayed at the same resort twice.:teeth:

yes, we are trying to stay in them all too, although we can only go once a year at best. The Dolphin is our favorite, and we stay there about half the time, but this spring we are trying out Pop Century. We were fortunate, as we stayed in the SOG years ago when it was the Golf Resort ( now I'm dating myself!!) otherwise we never would be able to stay there either.

Still have AKL, BWI, Coronado, Y & B, Movies and Sports to go.

Quick question for all who want ot stay at ALL the resorts...
Do you count one stay at one of the ALL STARS as having stayed there or do you have to stay at Movies, Music, & Sports to say you have stayed there?

I have stayed at Movies and Sports, and counted it as one resort.

I don't feel I have to stay at Music to say I have covered all the resorts.

I have stayed at CSR, Contemporary twice, Wilderness Lodge and Y. Club, My favorite is the Contemporary.
Stayed at Fort Wilderness in 1974 with my parents the first time I went, that was an experience!
Trying out the Swan this March unless a great rate comes out!

We've stayed at the Grand Floridian the most. ::MickeyMo

The only other resort we've stayed at more than once is All-Star Music. First time we stayed there for 5 nights, second time for 1 night (actually, about 10 hours, we had a late flight getting in). We've also stayed at the Beach Club, Contemporary, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge. Next year we'll be trying the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and the BoardWalk Villas, and maybe the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Dolphin, or Yacht Club. But, you never know when we'll return to the Grand Floridian. ;)

Trip #4 for our famil is coming up in March. We have stayed at the following -off site; AS Sports; AS Music; Pop Century (coming up in March, can't wait)

I have stayed at these resorts:

All Star Music
Grand Floridian
BoardWalk Inn
Wilderness Lodge
Polynesian (twice)
Animal Kingdom Lodge (twice)
Yacht Club
Beach Club

My favorites so far have been the GF and the AKL, but they each have their own unique charm.

I like to try all the different resorts, and I like to return to old favorites so I usually split my stays. That way I get the best of both worlds, LOL! My next trip is my honeymoon, and we'll be splitting our stay between the Grand Floridian and the BoardWalk Inn. We also decided to add 1 night to our honeymoon, and we'll be spending it at the new Pop Century resort.

I still have one deluxe left to try before I've stayed at them all (Contemporary), so it's on my to-do list. I've also never stayed at ASMo, ASSp, or any of the moderates. So many resorts, so little time, LOL! :teeth:

I plan on staying at All the resorts working my way through the categories...
As soon as my upcoming trip is finished I will start saving for the next trip, to Pop Century resort, thus completing my Value Resorts Stays. Then, on to Moderates......
once I hit deluxes I have to decide.. do I want to try Concierge?

For me, I'd like to say I've stayed at them all individually! That's why it kills me I missed the boat on the Disney Inn, Golf Resort was a bit before my time! (nod to Bimmy56 :wave2: )

I started out with one in each 'area' then onto 'sister' resorts such as YC but not BC (yet). Now that I've happened to stay in all the AS, I'm happy, but I wouldn't say it's necessary especially if you don't plan to stay in one for whatever reason or you've pretty much covered the resort as a whole by staying in part like YC/BC or AS.

The Hotel Plaza Blvd is another story as is the DVC, for me, since it's not likely I'll get to any of those. I have stayed at the Grosvenor so that 'area' is covered but I'll probably try for OKW since it stands alone.

I actually surprised myself by completing the Values first and the AK area resorts after that, all in this past year! Since our recent stay at POR, the last of the mods have been checked off now it's mostly Deluxes from here on out!

Ditto! I have a goal of staying everywhere once before I stay anywhere twice.

Like another poster, I'm sad to have missed the Disney Inn - it was the first place I ever visited on WDW property, back before we had to worry about secirity gates, and it had/has a certain quiet charm. And I'm hoping that the treehouses may return at some point.

So far I have stayed at all three All-Stars, all four moderates (back when DxL and PO still existed by those names), plus OKW, BCV, WL, AKL, and YC.

Have a room at BWV arranged for next Feb, but I still need a place for the first five nights. Pop Century is the obvious option, but if a really good passholder rate comes out, I'd sure like to fullfill my boyhood dream of a tower room at the Contemporary.
