We've been traveling all week. The kids can't settle into the hotel so they are both up many times each night. They have special needs and rely on our routine at home to regulate. We were up at 3, 4 & we finally got up for the day at 6 am. :) I figured since the parks were opening at 8 ( :confused3 ) might as well take advantage of the quiet and come back for naps at 10-11ish.

The CHOC walk was finishing when we got there at 8, which I knew about. But they had us go through security. Then said we had to leave the esplanade. So we go out to line up again and my kid is freaking out. So, if you saw our tantrumming selves fighting to get in the stroller - so sorry! And I think we accidentally cut in the bag check line. Someone else did blatantly after we'd been in line awhile, someone called them out and there was nearly a fight. Ridiculous!

So I planned a quick couple rides with me and the kids so all I had was a couple diapers, wipes, 1 bottle & 1 toy. Auntie was joining us as soon as breakfast was done and after we got in the gate line she brought us snacks a little after 9. Baby slept about half an hour - not nearly enough. We were near the front of our gate.

Our first stop was city hall. We got a GAC/DAS (?) but only for one day?! What?! I'm going to have to go every day for 6 days? With a kid that can't wait in line. Huh...

At 10 we got a time for pirates. We ride the 2nd jungle cruise boat. Got a FP at BTMRR. Headed to pooh. Got a return time for Casey jr then rode pooh. Ate at French market. One ride BTMRR & got rider swap. Then we used our Casey jr return time. Baby fell asleep on toy story bus. Toddler fell asleep in stroller on way to HomeWood suites. And is now up. All I got to do was put in a load of laundry and start writing. ;)

Oh my! That sounds like quite an eventful day. Love that you seem to be taking it all in stride. I hope the rest of your trip runs a little more smoothly.:)

If you hadn't gone through security when you went into the esplanade, yep, you will have to go back out. It's the same if you get there super-early on a normal day.

Regarding the title of the thread; what time did you get wrong? Was it that the park didn't open at 8?

Yeah. A couple weeks ago the schedule said 8 am and there was a short discussion about how odd it was. Anyway it all worked out starting in the park so soon. We usually have a hard time getting there at 10!

ah.

Turns out I just remembered incorrectly. Monday was the 8 am day. I don't know why. There were light crowds despite the Halloween party.

Kids were up at 7ish. We made it to the park at 9. We rode dumbo, carousel, the train, & Mr Toad. At 10 we got a snack at rancho del zocalo. Then got the das at city hall. I guess you have to get one daily if the child doesn't have a ticket. We met my sis at Ariel in dca and 3 of us rode midway mania. Then 2 of us rode screamin and we ate at Boardwalk pizza & pasta. The pasta seemed slightly dry today. It was still good. Better than plaza inn's pasta I had last night.

We got rsr FP on our way out. DH went to dlr got star tours FP. Looked around the AC displays where the characters are.
I walked back to HomeWood suites because baby was asleep in stroller. Sis walked the toddler to toy story bus. We met at corner of the lot. Lol went to room. I napped the toddler and left with aunties.

Auntie 1 had the day off (no ap) and got free bday lunch at Red Robin.

I met DH and we got an Indy FP and shopped for the kids pins. Didn't find what we wanted. Got a skewer @ Bengal BBQ & a garlic bagel at Maurice's. I'd been waiting to try the bagel. It was good, not great. I won't go out of my way to get again.

We rode Indy, shopped in dca, rode rsr for the win & had an ice cream at ghiradelli then headed home. We had dinner at HomeWood suites. Soup salad and snacks.

We had another really great day. :)
