Hi guys! We would love to go to Hawaii for a once in a lifetime trip and would like to plan this for next year. We can't afford to buy points so would be looking at booking at the 7 months stage.

I know that points have now gone on sale but does anyone have any idea when the resort is due to open and when you can start booking?
Thanks so much!

They have announced the hotel (not DVC) will start accepting reservations this August for times after opening next Aug. They have not yet announced when DVC reservations can begin. One might surmise end of Sep for those booking 11 months out (opening is supposed to be Aug 29, 2011 for DVC rooms) and if that occurs you will just follow normal procedure for booking 7 months out.

How exciting!!! Do you happen to know how much it will be to stay in the hotel rooms or any details? Will you be able to make cash bookings for the DVC bit once the 11 months window opens do you think?

Anyone like to rate my chances of getting anything for summer 2011?!!

When is the resort actually scheduled to open?

Dvcnews.com is reporting that Aulani will open on August 29, 2011, and that DVC reservations will open with the normal 11/7 month windows. Aulani Home Resort owners will be able to book beginning September 29, 2010, and non-resort owners will be able to book beginning January 29, 2011.

This resort looks so AWESOME!!!!

Wow, for those going in August, 2011, it should be SO EXCITING!

Can't wait for our September, 2013 trip!!!!!!! 10 days Oahu!!!! Can't wait!
Hopefully, won't be that difficult booking at exactly 7 months! Seems like a large property! Not too worried!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo:

Has anybody seen a rate sheet for the Aulani hotel rooms? Booking is supposed to begin on August 2, but so far, I haven't seen any rate info. I would assume that these have been sent to travel agents in anticipation of hotel bookings... but Googling has netted me zero info.

Info, anyone?

I'm dying to know as well! I have checked with my TA and she hasn't heard anything yet. She did say that she thought there'd be some good deals though to lure people in at opening. I'm assuming it would probably be priced similiar to Grand Floridian. Can't see them charging over $300 a night.

YAHOO! I'm so excited about this resort. I cannot wait to take the family out there to see the Beauty of Hawaii.
This is resort is going to be a Magical Place :wizard:......I can't wait. :worship:

You guys have me thinking we should start saving too. We are starting to get points built up on our Disney Visa so maybe that could pay for part of the stay. I would assume the smallest rooms go for around $250 a night?? Do you think I am to low? thanks

The cheapest Standard View hotel room is $399 per night. That rate is available from resort open to 11/18/11 and 11/27/11 to 12/16/11.

Cheapest ocean view hotel room is $549 per night during the same dates.

DVC Studios appear to be priced the same as a cash hotel room. One Bedroom villas are about 25-30% higher. Two Bedroom villas are about twice the cost of a hotel room/Studio.

Where did you find the rates posted? At those rates, I believe we will be starting out at the Marriott and then heading over to Aulani for the second half of our stay.

I can't point you to any on-line source but the numbers I quoted are accurate.

Do you know if they will be offering any discounts off rack rates for those owners who don't have enough home-resort points yet by grand opening?

Is there a points chart out for Alunai? I searched and couldnt find one.

Probably some level of discounting but hard to tell how dramatic it will be. Remember the hotel is opening in phases with 60% of the villas not available until 2013.

There are only 300 cash rooms making it a pretty small boutique hotel from that standpoint. Even Deluxe hotels at Walt Disney World are 2-3 times that size.

Early demand for the hotel could make for pretty brisk business in the early months/years. Foreign business will be a big part of the resort's success.

Full rate info is now posted here:

I checked the Marriott Next Door and that is about what the price point was per night, $550 oceanfront! Oceanfront Studio points Sept-October time frame seems to be in line with that!

Thinking that the Oceanfront Studio will be a fair value! Gotta love my DVC!!!!!! Aulani was a "sweetner" for our DVC purchase!!!

Can't wait for Sept.2013!!!! Resort will be AWESOME AND GORGEOUS!

Can't wait to start seeing pics as the resort takes shape!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

What site did you check for Marriott rates?! I looked on their main site: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-deals/hnlko-marriotts-ko-olina-beach-club/?offerInfo=434108

The posted base rate is $263, compared to $399 at Aulani.
