has anyone ever done the summer alumni program? i've been wanting to do it since my program, but it hasn't happened yet. :( i want to go back soo bad

What exactly is it? I knew there was a Summer Program, but Summer Alumni Program? When do we apply?

After sucessfully compleating a CP you are eligible for a summer alumni program. which is from mid-may to mid-aug.

I did my program Spring 2010 (extended, so really spring-advantage). One of the hardest parts about the CP is leaving and going back to "real" life. So I was excited when I got to go back this summer for summer alumni 2011.

Some things to consider about summer alumni programs:

* They are not guaranteed to have it every year like they do the college program. It's based on business needs and how many cast members they think they'll need, also they need to have room for these people at housing.

*You don't have to currently be in college when you apply, you just have to have done a program. So if you did a program 10 years ago, you could still do a summer alumni program next summer. (assuming they have it)

* There is very limited space in the summer program compared to the regular CP. (there was only one arrival date this summer) So record cards can be very helpful when you are applying. This isn't the only thing they go off of, but having a clean record card can't hurt you.

* Not only is there limited space, but they limit the number of roles offered too. This summer there were only five to choose from; Merchandise, QSFB, houskeeping, Attractions, and custodial.

* They will usually put up applications around the time they put up the ones for fall, so most likely around the end of janurary.

Appreciate the info!

Just to clarify something. Practically.Perfect mentioned that it is based on business needs and cited availability. This is true.

What is also related to that is the requirements. It is correct that there have been some years when you didn't have to be still in school. There have been others when this was required.

Also related to the available roles. Some years there have only been 2 or 3 options. I'd also add that characters are never on that list.

What has been relatively consistent is that there has only been one arrival date and one departure date. If you can't make it by that arrival date, you are out of luck. It is usually like the 2nd week of May.

The biggest factor on if it will be offered and the overall number depends on how many Spring Advantage people they project will depart the program before their scheduled date in August... and taking into consideration if they need to fill those spots in Housing *and* if the work locations need those openings filled.

I am interested in the Summer CP as well. Does anyone know which are the most common roles that are available pretty much every time? I would love to work in attractions again, but don't want to get my hopes up if it's not an option. I can't afford to miss another semester, so the summer CP is looking like the only option.

Attractions was available this summer, but usually custodial, QSFB, and housekeeping. It's really competitive though. Good Luck!:wizard:
