I went to Alton Towers for first time in my life on Saturday. I am a big BPB fan, but decided to give AT a try. The thrill rides that they have there are very good, and I also have a lot for younger people.

However, I have just one qualm about AT.
We go to theme parks in a huge group which consists of a few who are just 'guests to the park' and don't actually go on rides. This is great at BPB - as there is no need to pay an entrance fee - This wouldn't be possible at AT - you have to pay the entrance fee regardless of whether you go on rides or not!

You might say, "well yeah, that's just like Disney!" - but I just need to point out WE HAVE NO BEGRUDGEMENT at all about paying for Disney - WDW is just simply such a different class to AT!!!!

I liked AT, but would probably not be going back too soon, because of the ticket thing.
Has anyone else found theirselves in a similar situation???

Yes I agree with you we go every year with a group of friends & love it. But a couple of those friends we go with don't get their moneys worth as they don't go on any big rides.

They do come in very handy to leave baags & stray kids with though.!!!!!

also my mum would love to go & revist the gardens but won't pay the price asked. & it's too far to go just ot see the gardens for us in Winter.

I'm with you Disney Owl. Its great having a few friends with you who can rely on to hold onto all your bits and bobs!!
