alternative to Beaches & Cream

I would like to try the burgers at the Fountain but we always go to B&C. It's tradition...and it's not for the burgers...it's for the No Way Jose...and I don't see one of those on the Fountain's menu...

Cold Stone yuck! We had Beaches n Cream back in the day when the burgers were to-die-for and the No Way Jose sundae was The Best!!!! So yummy! The Fountain Funnel went out the window when I saw they don't offer Peanut Butter Sauce. I could bathe in that stuff!!

To the OP I too suggest The Fountain for burgers, but I would make your way back to B&C for the Kitchen Sink. You can get it without the gummy candy and whatever you don't want on it. Sure it may not be gourmet ice cream, but it's darn good! Good luck to your DS who's trying to finish it!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm another fan of the Fountain. It's the same style as B&C but the food is much better. B&C used to be a must-do for us every trip but I find the quality of the food has been going downhill.

We don't go to B&C for the "brand" of ice cream...we go for the sundaes, the atmosphere, and for me, the onion rings  Also, you can change up a few things on the kitchen sink...I wouldn't go and change everything because then you aren't really getting a kitchen sink, but if you don't want the "yucky candies" or whatever, then just leave them off. Then again, what kid doesn't like those? Also, B&C makes a big deal of someone ordering the kitchen sink- they flash the lights and announce it. For the atmosphere, it will be a lot better than Ghiradelli (IMHO) :upsidedow

I'm just not a fan of cold stone places so I won't compare.

another yummy option at the Fountain is the apple pie sundae

they put a nice slice of apple pie, then soft serve vanilla and caramel  OMG is that good!

Only problem is, I am usually too full to order it :( We will be heading over there soon and I want JUST ice cream. Hubby is a Jose fan so looks like we might have to go out for ice cream more than once :rolleyes1

I think if I had my way, I'd get the Jose instead of the Kitchen Sink, if we're going just by taste. I just can't resist peanut butter and chocolate...however, I think I need to "help the team" with the Kitchen Sink...maybe we'll have to go twice too! It's funny I've read tons of dining reports, studied the UG from cover to cover, perused menus on Allears and it's not until I asked this question that I ever even heard of the Fountain! Now, I'm kinda excited just to eat there, splitting a burger or sandwich and then going to B&C for the "sink challenge" - getting one more restaurant on our experienced list! We're trying to do all different restaurants than we did in 2006 except we're doing Teppan Edo and Sci Fi again per my kids requests, everything else is new!

The Fountain has great burgers, as does the Cabana grill at the Dolphin pool.

Thanks! I can't believe it! I've been counting down since about 400 days, it seems unreal that we're down to 9 tomorrow! (Actually, I've been counting down since we got off the airplane in 2006)
