Has anyone here had a wedding (or been to a wedding) held some place besides the Wedding Pavillion, Epcot, Y&B Club, or Sea Breeze Point?

I like Epcot best, but my fiance really wants an evening wedding. I also like Wilderness Lodge, but it's only available to Intimate Weddings.

Any ideas?

Anyone know if it's possible to get married on the observation deck at California Grill? I am definitely leaning toward having our reception there.

Are there any good wedding locations at the Contemporary at all? That's where we were engaged.

You can get married almost anywhere ion Disney. I am getting married at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm not sure about the resturant unless you rented the whole resturant out. It is defently worth looking into though. The worse they can say is no.

They definitely let you have receptions in California Grill at one (or both) of their two private rooms. I just don't know about the ceremony.

Where at AKL are you getting married? That's my favorite hotel, and I would consider having the ceremony there. I'm just concerned that the dark decor wouldn't be pretty in pictures.

I love animal kingdom and love staying at the lodge so I asked Disney if we could get married there and I found out that we can. I was going to have an intimate wedding but because of the location it is now a custom wedding, which is fine because now I can invite a few more people. I am getting married outside near the large rock that goes out into the savannah. The path splits at the end and if you go to the left path that's the location. They are going to block it off so no vactioning guests will be able to attend the wedding (not that it's a big deal if they did). If it rains then we are going to have the wedding in the big hut that is right outside the large windows in the lobby. If it is raining really hard and really windy then we would have it inside the lodge not exactly what kinda room it is kinda like a big banquet hall. Praying for good weather!!!:earsgirl:

Wow! Arusha Rock... that's awesome... we'll definitely have to think about that possibility. Good luck!

We got married on the beach at the Grand Floridian and had our reception in the Napa and Sonoma rooms at the California Grill in 1999.

We wanted to have a wedding that was not in the usual places - just something a bit different. They set-up chairs for our guests and we rented an arch to be married underneath. We also considered being married in one of the Epcot countries before WS opened. The Canada gardens are beautiful!

Good Luck!

Hey dopey...

Do you know how many people can be seated at your wedding location?

Kristi,

Did you have an evening reception? I'm hoping to see some fireworks from California Grill. :)

No, we had an afternoon reception. So, no fireworks for us unfortunately. But, it was much cheaper since it was a luncheon and not a dinner! :D And it was still great to have the observation deck for us & our guests. Also, having the whole restaurant empty, we were able to get some great pics in the main dining room, with MK in the background.

I was not given a set number of guests. I told them I'm having a small wedding like 20-30 guests. There were 3 locations in AKL that we could use. If your interested call either a sales manager or the wedding cordinator. Sorry for getting back to you so late I didn't realize that you asked me a question.
