Altamonte Springs

Can you tell me about this place??

Is there something fun to see or do??

We'll be there 3 nights in 3 weeks!

There's really not much to tell. It's a bedroom community to Orlando, and not a particularly upscale one. There's a mall which is nothing special at all. There's a strip with a bunch of chain restaurants and strip mall type shopping centers, but mostly the types of things to support local residents--hair salons, dry cleaners, liquor stores, grocery stores, Chinese food take-out places, auto parts stores, florists, etc.

I'm really hoping you aren't staying there and planning on driving to WDW every day. That's a long drive down a harrowing section of road. It would be a good 45 minute drive with no traffic, up to two hours during morning and evening rush.

There's really no tourist type attractions there at all.

Thanks Anne, well we will be in Altamonte Springs the first night on december 28th, coming from a long drive from Montreal Canada, so the 29th we will relax, maybe go to Orlando's outlet but nothing much, we will rest.

On the 30th we will be going at Sea World for the day.

On the 31st we will be leaving for POR at Disney!!!

The reason that we'll stay in Altamonte Springs is that I found a room hotel for 70$/night at Hampton Inn. Would have love to stay near WDW but it was between 125 & 150$ a night. With a family of 5 we have to make sure it fits our budget!!

Don't know where in Altamonte Springs you will be staying, but if you are on the main drag - route 436 - you will be near a cute puppet theater that is right on that road.

There is a 10:30 am show on the 28th and a 6:30 pm on the 29th.
