Is there another way besides norton to detect the worm and trojan viruses. It is possible that my pc is infected. The other day it was running sluggish and I ran a scan. I saw it coming up with viruses and walked away. When I came back it was finished and I didn't see what the problem was. I re-ran today and got the message that I needed to shut down pc to completely elim. the troj virus. DH shut down and restarted. When it restarted he saw a window with a bunch of stuff in it running, listing alot of worm viruses and trojan viruses. I ran the fix for worm klez32 virus, I think properly. When I first ran the scan for it, it said it was on pc, when we ran the repair it said it did not detect wormklex 32. I'm not even sure if this is which worm we have. I did Norton and the free online virus scan and it said there are no viruses. But we have repaired nothing since dh saw that window showing a bunch of worm viruses I guess replicating. PC is running a little sluggish but nothing else noticeable. Any tips?

Yes there are programs that will catch things that Norton doesn't.
Two of the most popular are "adaware" which you can download for free from www.lavasoftusa.com and spybot, just do a google search

Also, you want to make sure that you delete the things you put in the recycle folder.

I already ran adaware. It came up with errors that it fixed. But it repaired them and I didn't see what they were. This was right before dh saw the worm on the screen. PC still running sluggish.

still need help
I run adaware get around halfway thru the scan, it shows 23 problems then the program stops running. I ran McAfee Stinger, it runs for awhile, detects the worm in a few places then stops running. When they stop running I can't get out of the programs without shutting down the pc.

Try rebooting your computer and putting it "safe mode", tap the f8 key on the way in. Run adaware and norton in safe mode and see what they do.
Try the spybot, it often gets stuff adaware doesn't although the other way is true too.

I use spysweeper (free). I had a bad *something* one day and could not get rid of it. Adaware didn't even see it, and I had updated the definitions. I downloaded a few spyware programs, one found it but would only repair with payment. Spysweeper found it, and was intelligent enough to tell me what bits of spyware I might not want to delete because other programs wouldn't run properly.
