Hi everyone -
We had a 5 night stay at BCV last week. Here are the highs and lows:

Transportation: We used Yourride from the airport and had wonderful service, good conversation with the driver (Dennis, I think).

Room: A one bedroom on the first floor with pool view. Room was clean; bathroom was spacious (whirlpool was heavenly after a day at the parks); kitchen was handy. I didn't like the first floor (not much privacy) and will request an upper floor next time. 13 yr. old DD didn't complain TOO much about the sofa bed, but it would've been uncomfortable for two kids, I think. We got the extra towels - I think they skimp a little by only giving 4 towel sets - some of us use two towels per shower, y'know. We did laundry every day just to have clean stuff - it was easy!

Thermostat - I worried about this before we even got there. Once there, we found it difficult to regulate. It seemed that when the kitchen & living room area were comfortable, the bedroom was freezing. Perhaps we need more practice?

The parks: Wonderful, as always, even if it did rain a little. Illuminations is still my favorite and Aladdin is my new favorite ride. RnR is DH's favorite and he's looking forward to Space opening. DD just loves to shop in EPCOT. Crowds were nonexistent. We had hardly any wait time for any rides, with the exception of TT and RnR.

Cast members: This is the one area where there were few 'highs'. We did have one very lovely bus driver; a great CP CM at Magic Kingdom; a happy sales clerk at BC store; and an enthusiastic CM (intern) telling us about unusual fruits & vegs at The Land. Where do I write to give them some positive feedback?
On the other hand, we noticed MANY instances where CMs were ignoring guests to have their own 'sidebar' conversations. On TTA rather than greet us, the two CMs were speaking a foreign language to each other and didn't even acknowlege us - just pointed to a car. At Mousegear, 3 CMs were blocking an entrance, discussing the great night life in Orlando, while 2 wheelchair bound guests were trying to get by them! We went on the Aladdin ride one night, right before closing of MK - no CM in sight to direct anyone to a correct number or anything. Finally, she (CM) came over and laughed that we were the only ones that had stopped at the tunstile (implying we were idiots maybe?). Disappointing - not much magic from CMs. Any thoughts anyone? Am I being too picky?

Food: My favorite restaurant: Brown Derby (great salmon). DH liked O'Hana's and Concourse Steakhouse. Least favorite: San Angel Inn - they pack you in like sardines! Too many tables, too close together. I couldn't even get out to go to the restroom.

Sorry this is so long - maybe I should've put it on the Trip Reports board? All in all, it was a wonderful trip. It's always nice to leave the frozen north.

Thanks for reading!

:smooth: :D

I think the behavior of CM would reflect that of the general US population. Just because one takes a job at WDW doesn't convert them from being rude to a wonderful, caring, concerned-for-your-vacation type of individual. Just yesterday at our local Sams', an employee pushed in next to me at the snack bar so he could make a personal phone call. "Excuse me" were not words in his vocabulary evidently. I can only shake my head at times.

Thanks for the report Lady Hiss

Did you notice how the pool slide construction is getting done? I was hoping they would have it done ahead of schedule as we will be there on the posted last day of construction.

Hi Lampy -
They were working daily on the SAB slide, but it was impossible to tell when they'll be finished. The pool wasn't crowded at all - very pleasant. Have a wonderful trip!

:D
