What do you use to give your pages a little snap? I'm only starting on my 2nd LO for this album, and the page I'm working on had so much potential in my head, but it looks sooooo plain as I'm working on it. I have 6 pics from 50's PTC, and they're all bright and colorful, I picked 3 colors of paper to use and they all go good together. BUT....it's so stinking plain looking. I have a printed paper I was thinking about using with it, but I just can't make it look right. I have some eyelets and brads, but not really a good place to use them. Help?

I had to choose 3 colors because I don't have 2 pages of the same color except yellow. The yellow was going to be the border, since I'm doing a 12x12 album (not CM, top loading) and the two papers that really go with the pics are CM paper...10x12. But it just looks like I put a yellow stripe down the side, and I'm not sure I like it. If I had a program to resize pictures, I'd take one and post it, but I don't. I'm using a dark-ish pink and a turquoise blue color from the Rockin' Rainbow CM pack, and the yellow matches the yellow on the 50's PTC sign. The printed paper is the circles from the RR CM pack. This is my first time using a non-CM album, and I don't have the white page to fall back on. Any thoughts appreciated, I'm still working on it tho.

I can't help much for ideas (I do the same exact thing when I work on pages :() but...

Are you using Windows XP & Office? If so, you may have Microsoft PhotoEditor on your system. If not & you'er using XP & Office, check your program CDs to see if you can install it. PhotoEditor will allow you to crop & resize your pix.

If that doesn't work, take a photo & send it to me. I'll PM you with my email address. I'll re-size & send it back. Then you can upload it somewhere & post it here.

Thanks piratesmate! I'm going to put it off until after dinner, but I'll look into the MS Office, we do have XP. If it won't work, I'll email it to you, I got your PM with the addy. I appreciate it!!!

I did get this LO done, finally. I'm pretty happy with it, it's not as plain as I was afraid it was.

Deb, Thanks again for the tip about MS Office, I'm going to look at it, I'd like to post my LO's when I'm done.

Hi
Glad to hear you were able to get through the layout!
I have found to spruce up a layout with out getting to difficult is to use ribbon, chalk and paper tearing...
Just taking a matted picture and leaving extra space at the bottom, rip it on an angle, then mat again do the same thing. Then soften the edges with a little chalking. Or wrap some fiber or ribbon around it. You would be amazed!

I would love to see your layout! Please post it!

I always do a page and if I do not like it, I take the stuff off and change it. I have even went back and changed a LO that I did months before!!! My cousin laughs at me because I am always moving photos around after I have them put down :)

You could also cut the pp and the cs to do a color block type page. I usually use the white paper that is in my page protector to attach my color blocking pieces to.

I love paper tearing, too.

Please share your new page:)

Thanks for all the good ideas! I'm getting ready to start my Crystal Palace pages, but I really want to post the ones I've done. I'm off to see if I can figure out how to post them! I'm thinking of taking pics of them and just uploading them to snapfish, will that work?
