Dawgdad, you have a beautiful family!
Have a fabulous trip !!!!:thumbsup2

If you'll be watching Wishes from within the MK, I'd decide based on the lines at the boat dock. If you're among the first to be in line, take the boat. It will stop first at the GF and then head to the Poly.
If the boat line is long, get in line for the Resorts monorail. Poly will be your 3d stop.
If you are staying in a longhouse on the TTC side of Poly (Samoa, Niue, Raratonga, Hawaii, Rapa Nui, Tokelau, Tahiti) then you could board the express monorail to TTC and walk to your longhouse from there... Of course you COULD walk to any of the Poly longhouses from TTC - just a bit longer of a walk.
I'd base it on the lines that night :thumbsup2

Probably the boat. On your way out of MK, see if you see a boat for GF/Poly at the dock or approaching the dock. If yes, that's the best bet. You will stop at GF first, but it is a VERY pleasant ride in nice weather. You could also take the ferry to the TTC, especially if you are staying on the east side of the Poly (closer to TTC/CR). The monorail is also great, but usually has the longest line of the choices, and you have to stop at CR and TTC before the Poly (depending on your longhouse, the TTC stop may be closer to you than the Poly stop- this goes for Tahiti and Rapa Nui).

This is one of the nicest things about the Poly...so MANY choices!

Thanks for the info! I'll make a note of this.

Has anyone that has been to the poly lately noticed bounceback offers? If so what are they offering! We recieved another pin code for the rest of the year for 40% off! Bounceback could be 45% if they are offering!

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! I think I can live with those lights outside my window. I know there are drapes and they do an ok job, but I still like a dark room.

Bring a wide roll of tape to help keep the cracks of light out - if you want zero light....

No more pity party for me. I am in new planning mode. :surfweb: I am hoping to at least catch the end of food and wine. We just touched the surface on our last trip so I am looking forward to that.

We all know I go to WDW for the Poly:love::love:...I am so looking forward to my LVCL room and spending a quiet vacation:cloud9: with DH and DD before the crazy holiday season begins. Especially since it is just after my Bridezilla cousins wedding :rolleyes1

It is a win win :thumbsup2

Thanks for the support :grouphug:

I am glad that it is all working out.... I know how it feels when dates and plans are changed... but any disney is better than zero disney in my book! :goodvibes

I hope you have a DAWGgone good time at the Poly! :goodvibes

You must stop me: I heard the Poly has really gone to to the Dawgs. Who let the Dawgs out? I"ll be thinking of these the rest of the day!

Have a great trip and look forward to your reports!

We were at the Poly middle Jan and received a bounceback offer. We booked our return trip for Oct. I seem to recall both a 45% and a 40% offer. Can not recall which on I neded up using.

OK first off thank you everyone for all the helpful info on this thread ~

Here is my question/dilema. We are driving in from NY, it's about an 18-19 hour car ride. We are booked to come in on Monday the 24th of May. We were going to get up early (3 am) Sunday and drive through to Florence stay overnight and then finish the rest of the trip Monday. We usually arrive around 2:00 pm in WDW.

I was thinking (could mean trouble...lol) Now, my son can only take one Sat. off for his vacation so that is why we were leaving Sun. What if we left Sat. around 3 pm (son gets out a few hours early) drive to Fredericksburg Va. roughly 6 hours. Sleep over and leave around 5 am Sunday arriving in WDW around 5-6 pm. Would it be worth it to stay at the Poly arriving so late that Sun.? Also, if we added on the extra night do we automatically get the DDP added on for that day? If we did it that way we would have 5 whole days Mon-Fri. instead of the 4 1/2 arriving Mon.

Sorry to ramble but I could really use some advice, pros/cons of doing it either way~ Again, thank you so much and I appreciate the help :grouphug:

It sounds as if you booked MYW plus dining. if you just arrive at the resort 1 day earlier than your arrival, you are asking for a heap of trouble! there may not be rooms available, or you could get hit with rack rate for that night instead of the deal you may or may not have received when you originally booked.

Now if you are thinking of changing your reservation and adding another day then yes you would be adding another day of dining (of which you may or may not want) if you arrive at 5 or 6 in the afternoon you are really only arriving 2 hours past scheduled check in so you could enjoy MK for a couple hours!

Heres what I would do if I were in your situation! call and make a room only reservation for the first day arriving on Sunday, when you check in you can tell them of your reservation for the next day for your original MYW package they can link both reservations and all you would have to do on monday is get your new room keys and go to the parks. no moving out of your room blah blah blah. then you and your family can relax the first evening at the resort to recover from the drive up! watch wishes eat a good meal swim in the pool! :yay:

you get 5 days and you do not have grumpy family. :cool1:

Since my picture pool is running thin I thought I would throw out a group challenge.

Everyone post their favorite picture from their stay at the Poly. It can be of anything. The inside, outside, beach, pool, resort room view, with your family or just scenery pictures. Anything goes:thumbsup2

Make sure you give a little blurb about why it is your favorite picture.

I will start with one of mine....

Our first trip in October 2007. The first time any of us had been to Disney World. After 16 months of planning and saving we finally arrived at the Poly on a Saturday late afternoon. As we stood in line waiting to check in, DD who was 6 at the time, vomited all over my shoes and proceeded to be sick with the stomach flu all night.

We were given third floor Figi and the view was incredible.:cloud9: The CMs were wonderful and sent DD a get well care package with a set of ears and an autograph book with a card from Mickey and Minnie. We were already in love with Disney and the Poly and had barely stepped out of the room.

This was the first picture we took of the trip. Even though she was sick, DD was so happy to finally be at Disney! After that rough start, we had the most magical first visit!pixiedust: This is why this is my favorite pic.

I can't wait to see some others! popcorn::

I agree This sounds like good advice to me. :) We drive 13 hours from Michigan to Macon GA and then have a 5 hour (or so) drive from there to WDW.

It's feasible to break up the driving the way your are thinking of doing it. The one caveat - the room prices around Fredericksburg (if I'm thinking about the right Fredericksburg ;)) are a bit steep, so you might want to go a little bit further south before stopping. :)

Good idea BreezysMom! :) (Your daughter looks very cute BTW :))

This one is my favorite. I like it because it was taken during an early morning stroll around the Poly grounds. It was slightly foggy, and I liked the way the resort looked in the fog. I had waited over 20 years to stay at the Poly, and when I finally did stay there last April I was impressed by the resort :cloud9: (not with housekeeping, but that's another story! :upsidedow) The Poly reminded me a lot of my parents (now deceased) and a lot of my childhood dreams.

So that's why this pic is special to me. That whole trip was, really. It was a magical trip for me, at a magical resort. :lovestruc

Beautiful. Looks like the cover of an inspirational card at Hallmark.

Love the picture!!! We leave in a couple of months....can hardly wait. We are early risers, so perhaps I can get a shot like this. We enjoy getting up and walking around the resorts before everyone gets up....it's so peaceful in the mornings.

I will have to say, I'm a bit concerned about mousekeeping  There seems to be lots of bad reviews floating around the boards. We are staying TPV CL in May and even the CL threads have bad reviews about mousekeeping at the Poly. I guess, worst case scenario, the room is dirty when we arrive...we ask them to clean it again...no big deal.
