we usually have no problem. actually we've been told at check-in beforer that since we are a gathering with 3 rooms, we have a great chance of Tahiti and even 3rd floor because Tuvalu is the only other building with 3 rooms together (MKV). Also, Tahiti is a huge longhouse, and alot of people actually request 1st floor. But with the balcony on every floor, there will be zero disappointment no matter what - that's the beauty of MKV.

Dawgdad -- did you request via phone notation with a CM for your Tahiti 3rd floor location, or did you do it just now with the online check in?

I guess I am wondering exactly can you request via online? I remember reading not much except first floor, etcetera....

We have Garden view - DW, DS 4 and DD 9 -- thinking asking Tahitii with balcony (really want the balcony so we have somewhere to when (if) the kids conk out at night....) --I am torn between Tahiti, Tokelau, or just asking for balcony and leaving location up to the Tiki gods....

Have booked woods view every time at WL and every time I have been upgraded to Courtyard/pool view with a great view of the water parade and slight view of fireworks -- and NEVER put in an advance location request..... so skittish about requesting now and losing my mojo...

Ah, the whistles ... I love all of the sounds of the lagoon (including the EWP i_heart_the_mouse!)

The snow keeps coming down.
This is where I will close my eyes, put on some Polynesian music and dream of the Polynesian.

Man I can hardly wait until we're there again. I'm really looking forward to the sights and sounds of the Poly. I'm looking forward to smelling the lobby again too.

2 years later my Dh said "book it" so we booked CBR. Well we paid off our trip/airline and I started diving into the DIS threads.
Now you darn poly lovers got me really longing for a longhouse! DH said no, too expensive
I noticed Sunday that there were summer dates added to the special offers on disneys site..35% off a deluxe...I gave it a try
"so DH I wonder if we called Disney if we could upgrade to Poly, they might let us do it at this discount they have, it would be like $60 more per night"
I gave hime the phone...he called...talked to the girl for awhile...and said DW get me my wallet!!!!!!!
I am over the moon, I know going from a value to a deluxe is going to ROCK! We are looking forward to RELAXING this vacation, since we rushed it all in last time.

Aloha live from the Polynesian! We checked in yesterday morning around 10 am and our room was ready! What a great surprise. Eb gave us a ride with our luggage to our room in Fiji. This is our first time in this longhouse. Like every other gardenview room we've had, the view is lovely.

MsStinkerBelle, no dresses with the Polynesian name on them. There is a white polo that I've not seen in the past. Only small size available today. They still have the navy hoodies with raspberry colored flowers. There is a white one that is new to me. It's thinner material and has Polynesian script in pink....some flowers on the sides.

Those of you that have stayed CL. Have you all had the great experience that I am having with them? Amanda is amazing and terribly helpful. If this is the foreshadowing of things to come for our trip, I am truly beside myself. This trip is so important to us, we are coming off the very worst year, 2009, of our lives (i.e. my father died, my mother died and I needed surgery because they suspected cancer, didn't have that Thank God) so every little thing they have done for me seems monumental. OK I'm done, just got a little emotional there lol.

Love this thread.....anyway I was looking at another posting on the boards today and those of you staying in Sept you can access Sept MK hrs on the disney website You have to go day by day starting at Aug.31 and just keep hitting 'next day' until you get the date in Sept you need...the other parks aren't on yet but hopefully next week

I've already started planning what nights we'll relax on the beach and watch Wishes!! WooHoo!!!

Welcome! I am so impressed that you have read this entire thread! That is very impressive! And good that you did, since you knew where you wanted to stay and how to book your room with a great disocunt!!! I hope you LOVE the Poly. I think it will feel so much more relaxing than POP did -- with the easy transportation, island theming, hammocks on the beach, etc.

Big mistake . . .it will be very tough for you to go back to the other resorts after a stay at the Polynesian . . .you have my sympathy in advance.

2009 was a very difficult year for me too and as a treat, I too booked the club level. My trip isn't until November and December. I hope to have the same wonderful experience you are having. Sorry to hear about your losses in 2009 and hope 2010 is a great year and look forward to hearing more about your trip.

So true! After our Poly trip last fall DH refuses to even consider staying anywhere else. Unfortunately that seems to be spilling over to our non-WDW trips!! There is a very nice hotel in Toronto that we like to take our kids to for weekend getaways, but now he says it seems cheesy after the Poly and he doesn't want to go there. I'm so sorry for your troubles, I think 2009 was simply a bad year for many. Looking to the future, great minds think alike regarding CL I'm certain you will have a great exp. with the staff of CL. Don't forget you can make ADR's 180 days out. I have an ADR on Mother's day at Le Cellier at 5:00, I wasn't even sure that was possible lol. If the staff hasn't reached out to you yet they will soon. They made arrangements for a Haunted Mansion cake to be delivered at the California Grill for our 22nd wedding anniversary, a surprise for my husband. They also arranged for a keys to the kingdom tour along with a Segway tour of the countries. They do it all so don't be shy

Yes, well if it actually meant Poly weekend getaways for us I'd be estatic. But in reality, unfortunately it meants DH is trying to weasle out of our traditional Toronto weekends - two nights, about once every six months, at a great hotel that has an indoor pool with a water slide as well as a kiddy pool (great for DD4) and some shopping in the city for me - which I really need because we live in a VERY small town!
