congrats on the romantinc engagement!:wizard:

breezy thanks for the pics YOUR pics are just what the Dr. ordered:thumbsup2

I just booked dinner at Kona for our arrival night, and was wondering if anyone has tried the almond/coconut chicken? It sounds really good, but I wanted to make sure it was moist inside...I like my chicken crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside! :thumbsup2 Anything else you recommend for dinner?

It's one of my favorite things on the menu!! It's sooooo good!

Question for you Poly experts. We're booked at WL club level for our next trip. I received an email today from the Polynesian Resort in our King Kamehameha Club Concierge. Is this an upgrade?

Some photo's to start your day! I know some of you are snowed in and I hope everyone is safe and warm

Have a wonderful Weekend :wizard:

Thank you for the Pix :worship::worship:

We got 28 inches of snow. I really need them today :rotfl:

Lissiesmum -- 2 more weeks!!!:banana::banana::banana:

yahoo! 2 weeks from tonight we'll be snoozing right now because we have to be at the airport at 5:00am on Sunday! It's coming fast now! :woohoo:

It's one of my favorite things on the menu!! It's sooooo good!

Glad to hear it! It sounds delicious, and I saw a few pics on the food porn thread and it looks good too! I am also looking forward to the chocolate fondue...I can never pass up fondue!

Sorry never done CL.

Just wanted to say I love your boat in the signature line!!!:thumbsup2

Good heavens, that's a lot of snow! That was us last year. We had almost seven snow days...this year? Just one (knock on wood!). All the bad snow has gone south of us this year. Good for me, not so good for everyone else. Spring is just around the corner, Tiggspring! :shamrock::sunny::butterfly:flower1:

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there are kid's activities in the afternoon at the Neverland Club. I'm not talking about DD going without me, but activities (maybe arts and crafts type things) that she could do while I'm with her. Now I can't find that info. I saw something on the first page of this thread talking about arts and crafts activities in the GCH from noon to 2 on certain days, but nothing about things happening in the Neverland Club.

Did I completely imagine that or am I just not looking in the right place for the info?

The Neverland Club is just for childcare and the resort activities listed on the first page of the thread are a sampe of what they have to offer around the resort during the day. They also have pool activites and crafts that are listed on a different sheet that you will receive upon check in. I think it varies monthly due to weather and crowd levels.

Here is Novembers...

I am not sure....I know that the CR and Poly Concierge are a combined staff but I am not sure if WL is as well. I would call and ask if it could be a possible error or indeed an upgrade :thumbsup2

I would call or email your IPO. I know that some resorts share Itinerary planning offices. I don't know about you, but I would be very upset If I was moved to another resort without being contacted!

On a lighter note wilderness lodge concierge is absolutley beautiful! Congrats on your staying (or not staying) at WL! :confused3

I just got back from my 1st Poly stay, we loved it!:cloud9:

First a question-anyone ever have a problem with the shower heads? :confused3 It was like ours was attached to the wall incorrectly, LOL...We arent tall, we're both 5'7'' and we couldnt stand up straight underneath the shower head, because we would bang our heads...Weird...We were in Tokelau and we had friends that were in Tahiti and they had no issue, and she is 6'!
Other than that, I LOVED IT!!!!!! Probably wont get another chance to stay there, we're DVC and this was a surprise trip for me:goodvibes Too expensive to pay OOP to stay anywhere when we have DVC points all paid for.

Next an announcement:
During this trip, I got engaged:cloud9: Our 1st night of the trip he took me to dinner @ Bistro de Paris, afterwards Epcot wasnt very busy and we sat down on a bench in China, no one was around...Right as Illuminations (my fav thing ever in WDW) started, he proposed:love:
It was the vacation of a lifetime, the best ever!!!!

Remember how I said we'll probably never get another chance to stay there? Well, that may have been a fib:rotfl: We're hoping to get married there:lovestruc In that case, we would want to spend the wedding night there.

Low shower heads has been a common complaint, but DH and I aren't tall, so we never notice. lol

CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement! :bride: :groom:

You didn't imagine that! I remember someone talking about this exact thing, probably within the last couple of years. It seems that they don't offer this any more, but I wanted you to know that you didn't imagine it. lol

Thanks Breezysmom for posting the weekend pics! I've enjoyed coming on in the mornings and seeing this first thing! :goodvibes

It sounds really good, but I wanted to make sure it was moist inside...I like my chicken crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside! :thumbsup2 Anything else you recommend for dinner?

I am also having Kona breakfast...trying to decide between the Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes...thinking of getting the pancakes at Kona, and getting the TT at Capt Cooks. I am dying to try the Kona pressed coffee pot, but was wondering how strong it is? I am usually a Dunkins girl, and would like to try authentic coffee, but wondering if it might be too strong for my taste? I always need plenty of sugar and cream to truly enjoy my coffee...what dya think? Should I try it, or stick with the delicious juice?

I've been looking through the food pics thread today and saw the pics of the coconut almond chicken and wondered if it was good. The person that posted the pics said that her husband thought the chicken was excellent. :)

My favorite breakfast item at the Kona Cafe is the pineapple macadamia pancakes. HEAVEN ON A PLATE!! :cloud9: I like my coffee the same exact way that you do and I really like the Kona pressed coffee! DH and I always share that when we go there for breakfast.

It's one of my favorite things on the menu!! It's sooooo good!

This is good to know! :thumbsup2

Have you tried viewing your reservation online at the Disney web site? Check that out, see which resort is listed. I believe that if they changed your resort, that it would be reflected in your online reservation. :surfweb:

DH proposed at Cinderella fountain 16yrs ago this May:love:
It took us 15yrs to get back but we have a great marraige! Sending you some good marriage pixie dustpixiedust: and some extra for lots of WDW vacations toopixiedust:

Glad to hear I'm not completely losing my mind. :rotfl: I know that in the evening the Neverland Club is childcare for parents to drop off their kids, and I'm definitely planning to do that. DD had so much fun at the Cub's Den on our last trip that she's asking if she can go to the Neverland Club every night of our next trip. And we're staying 8 nights! I think I'd have to take out a second mortgage to afford that, but I will pick 2 nights for her to go. I was thinking I'd read somewhere about activities there during the day. They must have changed that.

Thanks BreezysMom for posting the November activities. We're going in August and my plan is to head back to the resort mid-day to escape the worst of the heat. I was hoping for some fun activities for DD. I'm sure we'll spend plenty of time at the pool and I definitely want to check out the hula lessons, but it looks like there will be plenty of other things to keep us busy.

I had the coconut almond chicken at Kona last year and it was delicious. The salad it is served with is really good as well. The Tonga Toast was out of this world but you won't be hungry for a while after polishing it off. I can't wait to have it again in March. I'd recommend the presspot as well, it's smooth and full bodied with out being too overpowering.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Susan

Wish I were having Tonga Toast right about now...[/IMG]

Thanks for the pic! That is a nice close up :thumbsup2

DH and DD asked for months for me to make them TT here at home and I finally did. :rolleyes1

They have never asked again :lmao: It just did not compare!

Thanks Susan! I can't wait for Kona and for our trip! I have my Poly loop music playing and I'm packing my suitcase as we speak! Off to do some shopping and get stuff for the trip. I am dreaming of the Tonga Toast after the pic that Johnsonet just posted!

A couple of questions have popped up this morning: I have a small kite that I'd love to fly with DD...I've never seen them around...do you think it's allowed on the beach if there's not a lot of people around?

My other question is about Tahiti and transportation. It is easier to get the monorail from the TTC than to walk to the GCH right? So if I walk to the TTC, there is a direct monorail (as well as the ferry) that goes straight to the MK (and the same for the way back?) And if I wanted to get to the GF from Tahiti, can I also walk to the TTC to catch the resort loop, or is it better just to walk to the GCH? I only used the TTC last year to go to Epcot so I wasn't paying attention to the other travel options :goodvibes

Happy Sunday everyone! :grouphug:

Athenna, congratulations!!!!:grouphug:

johnsonet and BreezysMom, thanks for more photos.:cool1:

Doesn't that Tonga Toast look delightful!? We tried making it at home years ago, too. Never again....just wasn't even close.:sad2:
