Merry Christmas

Oh Poly lovers, I am in a panic! We are suppose to leave Sat. mid morning for WDW from Des Moines IA. Our weather is BAD!!!winter storm warning for this part of the country. We could get 8 to 12" of snow between tonight and tomorrow Christmas Day. Saturday is suppose to be the nicest day but will the roads get plowed? Hubby did buy trip insurance, he also checked alternate flight plans. It looks like we may have to arrive 1 day late, will our wonderful MK view Hawaii BLDG room be gone? We have had the best room the past two years. Hubby does webcasts of the NYE fireworks. I could just cry!

To make matters worse, yesterday the nasty snow from last blizzard a week and half ago that left 16" here is in a massive melt down plus rain -- it ended up raining in our 4 season sunporch!!! Now we have a huge dehumidifier and large fans drying out our exposed walls. What else can go wrong?

I really need to be in WDW now. Merry Christmas All. Kathy

We are driving from Kingston, Ontario and are planning on leaving VERY early on Saturday morning. They are calling for freezing rain on Sat. Hopefully, we can get a jump on the weather and leave earlier if we need to.Thankfully, when we drive down in May, we won't need to worry about the weather, or at least not snow.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas/Holiday and a safe drive/flight down.

Merry Christmas fellow Poly lovers!!! Over this holiday period, the kids and I are hoping to talk DH into a return trip Feb/March 2011 - DD really wants to celebrate her bday in WDW (March 1st). Fingers crossed!!!!

We are in the midde of that blizzard here in OKC right now. I hope you fare better than we are doing. There are hundreds of cars stuck on the interstates and the National Guard has been called out to pick up stranded motorists from their staled cars. We got 14 inches of snow today and DH is stuck in OKC because he can't get home from work.

WE HAD a freak snowstorm here in Dallas Forth Worth and it is causing all kinds of trouble at the airport, so I feel your pains! I hope we get out as well!! I will pray for you guys!! WE are at the POLY too!Have a Merry Christmas!

Howdy, Poly thread neighbors! I sure hope those of you currently traveling make it to the World safe and sound and on schedule. Here's a little pixie dust for ya.

I'm under three weeks until my trip now and I... can't... stand... it.

I got a new suitcase (carry-on style) for Christmas, and spent some time last night seeing how my shorts and Hawaiian shirts are going to fit. I figured I might as well pack since I'm not wearing any of those things here this time of year.

My Favorite--The 'Jack Daniels' Gingerbread Tiki Hut!

We stayed at the Poly the first week of Dec this year and none of these were there then. Would have liked to have seen some Christmas decorations such as these.

Although, some kids broke some pieces off.

The gingerbread houses are a contest among the cast members of the resort. They do change from year to year. For example, this year's collection includes this one made by someone that works at the front desk.
