Here are some night time pics.....I don't want to disappoint :wizard:

So has any of you Poly lovers left the Disney bubble and headed over to the Universal? DH is insisting on the seeing Harry Potter and I am getting a headache trying to figure out how to do it? :headache:

I was thinking of heading there first and staying a night or two at one of their hotels so we can get their express pass thing and then heading to the Poly for the remainder of our stay.

Our other option is to just rent a car for a day and head over there?? I was really trying to wait a few more years before visiting Universal. I hope DH changes his mind. There is so much to do during a holiday trip and there is only so long we can visit with taking DD out of school.

Stupid Super Bowl commercial:rolleyes:

Thanks for the pics! :goodvibes

I was going to to this at the beginning of our August trip. I'm thinking of spending two days on site there before our WDW trip starts. Here's the link for the Universal IOA forums on the DIS. They should be able to help you there. :goodvibeshttp://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30

So, have you decided??? :rotfl2:

Yes! Finally! :lmao:

We added a few days onto the beginning of the trip and are staying at Poly LV CL from the 4th through the 8th and then at BC LV CL from the 8th through the 12th. :goodvibes

Good Morning :sunny:

Please everyone.. Please do not get me wrong! I do not hve a problem with gay pride! I just have heard horror stories! My kids know there are gays and they know that it is a choice! I live in Philly! If they don't act like teenagers in love while in the park, I will be there to cheer them on! That type of behavior is not acceptable by anyone who is in the parks!

I didn't get that from your post at all-honestly-I have no problem with it either-what I do have a problem with is the whole public display of affection-doesn't matter if they are teens, adults, straight or gay-place & time for all that & I don't believe it belongs out for all to see!! :)

Hi -- we were there in June 07 during that time -- aside from being a bit more crowded in the parks we didn't notice anything innappropriate. My little girl was 7 at the time, i do remember a crowd of pride people waiting for the parade at the top of Main street and they were having a blast with the jump ropes and the hula hoops -- a few twirled the rope for my girl to jump.
Fun loving, happy friendly people -- having a good time at Disney.
Not a problem at all.

Those are great! I love when we first pull up to the Poly!

When we went in October and got off ME and walked over to the outside desk to tell them we were staying CL. She informed us to just wait and they would pick us up in a moment and take us to Hawaii. We said thanks but we'll walk. We love walking into the lobby at the beginning of our trip :goodvibes and did not want to bypass that experience. :cloud9:

I was thinking of going to Seaworld.. Maybe take a cab? I don't think it is too far of a drive. We may decide to drive, so we would have our car anyway.

After hearing the news that toontown would for sure be closed in December we are considering moving our trip to October. When I told my dd that Goofy's Barnstormer probably would be closed when we went , she started crying. So what do you think the chances are that the Barnstormer will still be open in October? Of course we will still stay at the Poly.

Ahhhh, those pics brought back memories of my "nightmare" from the other night carlnix30. :rotfl:
Actually, they're great. They brought back all the excitement & anticipation we felt when we arrived at the Poly for the first time in Oct. Can't wait to got back this fall!!

Wow, your trip is going to be jam-packed! You could always add a few extra days on at the beginning to accommodate everything ... like meeting your neighbours to the north. :rolleyes1

We will be on the dining plan on our trip in May. If we eat at Captain Cook's, can we get dole whip as the dessert with our meal?

Thanks :)

We are actually flying into Orlando a few days early to include this in our trip. I'm using Hilton points to spend three nights at the Doubletree in DTD before we check into the Poly. I know this sounds silly but once I immerse myself in the magic, I don't like to leave the property.

Few details have been released about the value of staying at Universal and the FOTL benefits with Harry Potter so we opted to use points. We are renting a car for the first few days and spending a day at Kennedy Space Center and a day at WWoHP. We don't really expect to do much else at Universal...we went to Universal Hollywood and there wasn't much there that was appropriate for our kids. But the one day will cost about $400 in tickets!:scared1:

I will certainly report back after August!

Not jammed pack if I can help it. I have been playing with all sorts of dates. If I had it my way I would fly out t-giving day and stay until the 5th of Dec but DH refuses to travel during the holiday period.

I really want to come earlier as I am trying to avoid the parade taping at Pop Warner if not be there for a bot before those crowds come in. For now the airfares have jumped through the roof so no decision is made yet. We do have a reservation for 12/4-12 LVCL as of now.

I am hoping DH wanting to see Harry Potter will wane over time. Me and DD, not HP fans so we clearly out vote him ;)
I am trying to scare him off with the threat of crazy crowds because it will be so new. We will see :rolleyes1

We just abandoned ship for our April Poly trip!:scared1:

We have FF miles expiring, and I was able to get 3 free nights at a suite hotel offsite, then we got 5 nights at the Sheraton Safari for $350 total. So saving almost $2,000 on lodging.

I'll be reading this thread and of course we'll book a meal or two at Kona during our stay.

Oddly, I am not really upset missing out staying at one of my favorite Disney resorts! Money really does talk.

I will appreciate that. :thumbsup2

I agree with your sediments about leaving the property. Although we never have, I just don't want to start now. Especially, a holiday trip.

Seriously, the bottom line is less time at the Poly which does not make me happy but it is a give and take. I have to say, when I mentioned the split stay, he did not like it. Then the car rental, he liked that less so the odds of it really happening don't sound good.

I don't think that's silly at all, we feel the same way! If we ever do go to Universal, I'd plan it for a few days before our WDW stay, and probably stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, more for the hotel rather than the Universal Parks. I've been to Universal Studios in California and really enjoyed it, but at this point I like to spend all of my time at WDW. :)

Wow, I've already heard back from Meg at IPO, and they made all of my ADRs for me!! I think this is the fastest response time ever! :thumbsup2

I had to reply to give her my credit card info so that she can book dinner at the castle for us on the night of our anniversary (I forgot that it was now a pre-paid restaurant), but in the meantime she booked us at the princess dinner at 1900 Park Faire just to ensure that we'd have a princess dinner that night, just in case! Now I call that pro-active customer service! :goodvibes

That is so great! I love Meg  She was great help with our last trip.

I am so excited for you :yay:

Life is just plain better when planning a trip to the Poly and WDW :dance3:
