ALOHA to Hawaii ~ April 29 - May 14, 2012 Part 5

I am going to miss turning on the computer in the morning and having Linda saying Good Morning. We hope to meet some of you on the PC thread. Leaving FL tomorrow for the drive back to CT. Keep us in your prayers that we have a safe and healthy trip back.

Be careful and safe travels!

Val, I did know the ashes are interred there, but I did not know how and about the ceremony. Very touching, brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for posting this.

Hello all.

What a great cruise!!!

After we got off the ship we spent 5 nights at the Grand California and DL and that place is very nice!

It was nice taking to some of you on the cruise and the guys had fun at Poker even if DCL watched us for the first 30 minutes to make sure it was a friendly game. lol

It was bumpy the first night but after that it wasn't bad at all. We used Motion Eaze oil and it works great. My 4 year old complained the first morning(2nd day) and we gave her a second dose behind the ear and she never complained again.

Was it cool and windy? Yes, but the pools were not crowded at all(when open) and heated, so she had a blast.

Wife and my self found the adult hot tubs empty most nights and warm, so I guess many missed out.

I found the staff to be excellent all around the ship, though my server could have been better, but it didn't ruin our trip at all!

They said only 330 kids on this cruise and my daughter had one on one attention the whole cruise. They loved her and she them!

I thought the adults shows were great and had tears rolling at the jokes.

I didn't see any post at the food? They out did themselves. Correct me if I'm wrong, but no repeat menu's? 15 nights!

The sushi was awful(my only complaint)!

The Tuna steaks out on the grille were awesome. Had about 5 of them(maybe should lay off the tuna for awhile). If you missed the tuna when in port at Ensenada WOW. They bought it fresh off the docks and served it for lunch. All I can say it was incredible and i have eaten right off the boats on the east coast!

Could DCL have done it better, sure! The timing of some shows, more info on events, most people had no clue they were barbecuing on the rear deck even as they were sitting 20 feet away.

Would we do it again? I think yes!

The only thing we would do different is fly in 2-3 days early rather then just one day. East coast time was a killer for us and the little one. lol

First sea day we called room service at 4:45 am for breakfast and they ask if we were still up from the night before and of course we said we wish. Made for a long day! lol

6 hour time difference after a couple days was a killer for us and the little one, but after it was great and coming back was perfect for us as I stayed up late and the little one slept in more.

Look forward to maybe seeing some of you on the the Fantasy in Feb.

King Richard(Bill, Kirsten and Addison)

I wanted to give a hout out to all the other moms on the ship... My girls had an awesome time, and so did I!!! I loved celebrating Mother's day with all of you. It was a great vacation and I have memories (and friends) to last a lifetime.

I don't know that I ever had your cell phone number. I'll try to locate it. Will send you a PM and e-mail too.

I was wondering how you two gals are doing. I hope you get over this cough soon. Was nice meeting you on the ship and hope to stay in contact!

DH came down with the cold around Friday on the ship. He spread it one of our traveling companions, our daughter who met us at GCV on Monday and finally to me. I was hoping to get through it unscathed, but I think I was too worn down to fight it.

GCV is amazing!! From the decor of the villas, to the amenities to the robes hanging in our closets. Oh how I wish the WDW DCV resorts were on the same level!! We truly enjoyed our time (our first time) at DL and GCV. I would have loved to have stayed longer than 3 nights, but it was truly time to get back home to Georgia.

We loved our first Disney cruise, but we are definitely 7 day cruisers. It's just too hard for us to be away from home and work that long, but I wouldn't have missed this for the world. We had great excursions in Hawaii, we had great bar servers in the Cove and Promenade, and our main dining room servers were fantastic. And who doesn't love Pierre?? LOL Who knew what we were in for when we met him at sail away as he was handing out the Mickey hands!

We had some great table mates in Susan and her sister, aunt and parents! We are hoping to meet up again at WDW this fall for F&W.

Deb did an amazing job with the Champagne Girls event. We had a great time chatting with Toni while we sampled some yummy adult beverages. =)

Thank you to everyone that made magnets for our door so it didn't look so bare during our first cruise. All the magnets came home with me and will have a special spot in my Disney corner!

All in all, we had a wonderful time, made some great memories but are really glad to be home for a while!

From the two PC cruises I did I remembered that the Pacific is COLD...brought some jeans, and two jackets. I was fine. I don't do pool sitting anyway.

The whole cruise was the genuine epitome of lavenousness.

I haven't looked at the itinerary, but do you stop in Costa Maya? If so, I highly recommend Maya Chan. We went there a couple of years ago on our RC cruise and it was fantastic.

Wish we could, but I am hoping that we will be on WBPC at that time (maybe you should consider that one instead!)

How did B's band do this weekend? Any youtube videos?

Only been home a week and I'm already ready for my next cruise.

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful FE treats, it made the trip so much more fun.

I just wish I'd been able to meet more people, all that time and there was still too much to do!

Harry and I got home yesterday after a great week in Anaheim, including the Lights, Camera, Magic! ABD 1-day tour (fabulous!) and five days at Disneyland and Cal Adv. (weekdays wonderful, weekend very crowded due to grad nights and Bat Day -- who knew?)

We had a great time on the cruise, saw some old friends, met some new ones, fun tablemates, good excursions.

Had to go back to work today and still have to unpack all the bags. The cats were very happy to see us and not too happy when I had to go to work today. Only a bit more than two months until I won't have to do that anymore.

We booked the second 12-night Med cruise with Greece for July 2013 while onboard. Will have to look for a thread here for that cruise. Next cruise is a 7-day on the Fantasy leaving Oct. 20. Will do a week at WDW pre-cruise, then a week near Fort Lauderdale post-cruise. I think I am going to like retirement!

We both managed to avoid the cold/cough/sinus thing so many came down with -- surprising, since I usually come home from vacation with a bad cold. My back, which decided to fail me the morning we arrived in Ensenada, finally felt better a week later. But the best news for me is that after 2 weeks on the knee scooter and a week on an ECV, my foot no longer hurts! Not sure what the orthopedic doc will think when I see him tomorrow, but I am thankful I can walk without pain for the first time in months.

Thanks to everyone for all the great FE gifts, especially Corrina who gave those in multiple groups multiple gifts! We also particularly appreciate the ducks to add to our ever growing collection, and the CDs (we got four of them!) with all the wonderful Disney and Hawaiian music. Val and Bob, we absolutely love the one you put together. Great selections! Also loved all the magnets, candy, and everything else we found in the FE each day! Some people (besides Corrina, PXIPWR comes to mind) really went above and beyond, with gifts appearing throughout the cruise.

Agree! My little guy is etoile du jour today (star of the day) and brought his ducky's for his special show and share. He got 9 of them and bath time has become an hour event nightly!

Corrina's charm have all my Disney-lover friends at home quite jealous! You should start an Etsy store Corrina!

It was great to see you and Harry again! Glad the foot is better, hope it is permanent. Congrats on the planned retirement! You will love it!!!
