I could be crazy (in fact I'm sure of it), but I thought on the Theme Parks thread someone said that they would be doing the 4th of July fireworks ALL week this year during the 4th?? So if that happens to be true, you could still see those fireworks on the next night??

I wish that was the case!! According to the published park hours calendars, it's only on the 3rd and 4th. It is good that you can see it on the 3rd as well, but that doesn't help us this trip.

...and we're all crazy.

Soooo after doing end of June/early July long weekend trips the last two years (my bday is one week before July 4th, so last year we spent my 40th at BC for instance), we said we absolutely wouldn't do it this year. Until we just booked the Poly on Friday for the July 4th weekend.

Here's the dilemma. We actually arrive on July 4th, and the only dinner ADR we could get was Citricos at 8:10. Ohana and Kona were booked solid. So we figured either Captain Cooks and watch the fireworks (which we saw two years ago when we stayed at the CR), but someone said Cooks would be crazy that night, or just go to dinner and forget the fireworks, and catch Wishes (which i know isn't the same) later in the weekend. Decisions, decisions...

You could just order room service. You wouldn't have to worry about ressies or crowds & still be able to go see the fireworks or watch wishes. We've ordered room service at the Poly many times. It's not a long wait & it's the same food as Kona.

I agree with this. We ordered room service one day during our stay. It was pretty quick and very good.
