We had the most amazing GV room! Fiji first floor looking right at the marina. We read about it so we asked and got it! I never like staying on first floor but this time it worked really well. We were like a 45 second walk to the side entrance of the ceremonial house by the arcade and like a 2 minute walk to the dock to take the boat, which we adored. Being on the first floor we had a big patio and it looked right at the sailboats like 10 feet away. We could not have asked for a better GV room! Have fun!

Do you have any pics?

Can anyone recommend some great garden view room numbers? Thanks!

Samoa 1606!!! Loved this room!

Aloha! I've had the magical experience of staying at the Poly and I loved it! Can't wait to go back...hopefully in 2014. Staying in the cabins in September. While at the Poly I fell in love with the music they played while I was relaxing in the hammock. I asked one of the cast members if there was a cd I could buy but he couldn't help me. Was just wondering if any of you knew names of artists/cd's that might feature some of the polynesian music I heard. Mahalo!

One of the artists that they play are called "The Polynesians"! Go figure, right :lmao: One of the best parts of staying there is the music! :thumbsup2 Also, if you go on Tikimans website, he has a polynesian loop that he plays.

Did anyone listen to Tikiman on Pirate Radio last night??? I was so jealous... during the broadcast(they were recording out by the pool) you could here the waterfall running and also the hawaiian music in the background! I could have cried of jealousy  but it sure was fun to listen live :)

We ended up with a BB from our stay in March, it was 35% off poly, so I HAD to use it (would have been wasteful not to right?) anyway we will be there Oct 20th for our first Poly stay EVER! I'm beyond stoked!
I love your Dis name.......great minds think alike!!!!

Yes, 35% off is a great deal!! You will love the Poly!! I was really hoping for 35% or 40% off BB offer when we were there last Sept but it was just the free dining BB offer, o well, better than nothing!
Best Dis name ever!! :thumbsup2

I switched our reservation from AKL to the Poly today! :dance3:

We've never stayed at the Poly and it's always been on my to-do list. But I starting reading about the DVC changes coming and it really motivated me to stay there this trip and experience it the way it has always been and loved.

Question: The cast member told me all they had were standard rooms when I asked for a garden room. The standard room is a garden room, right?

We visited AKL when we met my cousin and her family there. It's a really nice resort but doesn't beat the Poly!!! Yes, the standard rooms are garden view.

Can anyone comment on the garden view rooms? Thanks!

Pretty much any room at that resort is great!! We like staying in Fiji. This last year we had a room on the 3rd floor, marina side, and it was SO nice and relaxing sitting outside! The 2nd floor does not have a deck.

We are leaving for our trip in 4 days. Should I request a room on the ground level or not? I think we have the lagoon view. This is our first trip ever. :) We have two kids ages 8 and 6 if that will make a difference in what room level we should request :)

My short answer: I don't know. I keep going back and forth on this. Our kids will be 7 and 3 (plus an infant). The ground level has the appeal of being able to just open the door and let the kids run & play while supervising from the patio. However, a balcony has the benefit of keeping them contained. ;) I am really indecisive about whether patio or balcony would be better. I knew for sure I didn't want one of the rooms that is not ground-level AND doesn't have a balcony. So I requested a longhouse that has all balcony/patio rooms, and we'll just see what the fates deliver. :)

Which longhouse did you request?

I was wondering if there are any posted reviews on the Never Land Club. We will have a 6 and 4yo and were wondering about the club.

It's a little pricey, but SO worth it!! We took our 2 boys who were about 4 and 8 at the time. We dropped them off, filled out the paperwork and they wouldn't even come back out to kiss us good bye. LOL When we got there about 3 hours later to pick them up, they didn't want to leave. It was great....we didn't have to worry about them and they even gave them dinner. It was very nice. From what little the boys told us about it (other than it being "awesome") was that they had a ton of games and crafts and the ladies were 'really really nice'. Oldest DS is now too old, but if he was young enough to go we would definitely do it again!!

Here's the view from our room. It was in the Fiji Longhouse, 3rd floor, marina view. Room #3311. We had stayed in a 1st floor room prior to that, same longhouse, on the marina side. I preferred the 3rd floor with the balcony.

Do you know what happens when they get tired? I would assume the younger kids might fall asleep. Did that happen when you took the boys?

Can someone tell me what the dinner choices are for kids at the Neverland Club? Can they get extra food if they are still hungry? Are there snacks and drinks available?

I read the reviews at Allears but was looking for a little more detail

Thanks!

I was the same way. Wasn't sure which way to go. We were CL in the Hawaii building, the very last room at the end of the building with a garden view. I had requested a 3rd floor room and ended up with 1st floor instead. I absolutely loved it. I have a 6 and 5 year old and we rented a double stroller. It was so nice to be able to wheel the stroller right up to the patio and leave it there overnight. The kids loved being able to play in the grassy area outside our room. Ducks would walk right up to the patio (which can be a disadvantage because they leave a mess). There didn't seem to be a lot of foot traffic in our area so I didn't have any problems with privacy. It was definitely convenient to be on the ground floor. I really don't think that GV from the third floor would have been that spectacular and worth the hassle of the stairs. I guess it really depends on what longhouse you are in.
