Excellent! But only 2 pics? Ha. I have 1st & 2nd choice of longhouse, and balcony or patio 2nd choice. Outside space is #1 priority!

After you make your first 2 picks for early check-in, go back and try to change them. Last year when I did this, my original picks weren't deleted, so I ended up with 4 options checked. Granted, that sounds like a bug and it happened a year ago, so that might not work any longer, but it's worth a try.

Or just call and have the reservationist add all your requests instead. That way you can verbally specify that balcony/patio is number 1 priority.

I think it's weird you can request Hawaii Longhouse since it's club level only. I'm thinking I'll request Samoa and a balcony for our trip since we aren't staying CL this time.

If anyone is there now at the Poly - can you tell me where the characters are meeting Easter morning at the resort?

Just read a post on another site with a list of the Character's at each resort for Easter & their locations... It had the Character's at the Poly shown to be on the Luau Lawn.

Is there a list here of who is going? I didn't see one.

I can't stay away. Was just there in March, and today booked 3 nights 5/30-6/2 with the AP discount. Just a quick weekend girls getaway!

I thinking of booking the Poly for Aug 2014... Am I reading that the pool will be closed?

CS is Captain Cooks right?

The most up to date information I have seen is from Tikiman. I have do not know how to included a link to his site, but he also has a bunch of pictures of the Captain Cook's temporary location on his Facebook page!

Has anyone been to the temporary CS location? Any input on it? Thanks!

I haven't been but Tikiman posted pictures on FB this week. The only thing that
upsets me is that it looks like they've removed the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese from the menu. Frankly, nothing about the construction has had me disturbed or make me not want to stay at the Poly but I nearly went over the edge about the grilled cheese. :lmao: I love that sandwich and have been relishing the thought of it since our last trip in 2010. Ridiculous I know but I have great memories of lunch by the pool with my kids and eating my grilled cheese.

Lots of buzz going on over on other threads & on FB over the news about them converting Tokelau into DVC. I think I am the ONLY person who is excited about this, and think in the end, maybe by 2016, Poly will be even more beautiful & tropical with the DVC addition. Yes, I'm biased, I'm a DVC member, but I was a Poly lover way before I was DVC. Actually they announced the Poly DVC before I was a DVC member, but I was excited even then.

I've been saving my pennies since the announcement, in hopes of buying some Poly points, but it sounds like I should expect to be out-priced. In any event, I'm still excited about seeing the changes at Poly. I stayed there last month & the construction didn't bother me one bit. I'm going back next month for a long weekend, and I suspect things will have changed greatly since March, but I'm anxious to see it. Captain Cook's is my favorite resort CS, so that change will be huge for me, as will the lobby water feature construction. I hear there is a fence around the pool, which I think will impede the view of the castle from the pool area (when laying down), so we'll have to see about that.

Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!!! That is my favorite meal there!!!

Edit- confusion on my part. So instead just wanted to share my trip! We're leaving in 6 weeks and it seems like a million years away. This how it always goes because 6 months ago I was envious of anyone with a ticker under 2 months! I'm trying to live in the moment :)

Our drive in night we are staying at BWI for the first time. I would be happy to give a BWI review from a die hard poly fan's perspective. I know a lot of poly people are considering other resorts for upcoming trips- this is kind of a test run for us too. We are checking into poly GVCL on June 2nd and will be sure to give a full report with pictures!

Keep us updated on whether any of the new changes impede your stay. :listen: We don't arrive until July 27th and while we Cpt Cooks is upsetting and we are crossing our fingers the volcano pool closure is pushed back a week, we are going into the stay glass half full. We were @ the GF during DVC construction and a closed Gasparilla Grill and we had a great time. I can't wait to relax in the Hawaii lounge again overlooking the castle (I hope that view remains intact!) :goodvibes

Can anyone that's been there recently let me know if the seating area outside of CC is still available? I didn't know if that's part of the CC refurb or not. I love to sit out there & have breakfast overlooking the pool & castle!

I was wondering about that too. Has anyone heard a completion date for the CC rehab? I had originally heard end of June/early July which is when our trip is. I'm getting so excited.
