It has been awhile since I rented a surrey bike and I've never done so at the Poly. Last year at BWI, we inquired but for some reason, they wouldn't let my son be his own 'driver' - but I can't remember if it was his age or height.

Has anyone rented a surrey bike lately that knows what the restrictions are around them? DH and I want to ride as well, but I think DS wants his own or he would at least want to be in the front pedaling.

And if you rented one at the Poly, where were you able to bike and did you like it?

I never hear anyone speak about the Contemporary Resort. Is it that bad as an alternative? GF reminds me so much of an old lady's house... Can't see us staying there. Poly construction updates are starting to make me think about changing to a different resort for our January trip.

We haven't stayed at the CR, but are booked there for our first stay in December. With that said, we love the GF. The CR has never appealed to us as far as theme/decor, but after researching it and seeing a lot of pics, I am very excited to try it .

The pins I ordered came in and they are exactly as described. We found at least one complete set.

There are tons of very neat and unusual pins. This was well worth the money. Now the kids can trade to their hearts content and I am not buying pins every 2 seconds st 8.99 or higher a pop.

Glad the pins are exactly what was described . Hope the boys love them and can do a lot of pin trading on the next trip.

Excited though to get back to the Poly in just a few days!

No one knows for sure supposedly after new year..

We shipped. There was no resort fee.

Best way would be to do online check in. I believe they allow you to make 3 requests. You could also call reservations now and have those things put on and then follow it up at online check in.

Which one is that? I know in 2011 I bought a water bottle/cup from AKL its really nice and its not dishwasher safe but Im ok with handwashing it since its one cup.. Did it clearly say on the bottom that it wasnt?

I bought the cream-colored coffee mug the first week of March and all the screen-printing has washed off already.

I think I bought the same one a couple of years ago (ceramic coffee mug) and it didn't survive one trip through the dishwasher. I don't think it said anything about not being dishwasher safe.

It's green and it says nothing. It was nice while it lasted.

Yea, the paint comes off pretty quickly. I bought one at WL last December and by January there was nothing at all on the mug. I saw that green one when we stayed at the Poly this summer and had to have it...but then remembered the WL one. I didn't get it.

I still think that even handwashing it that it the printing wouldn't last very long.

We're talking to guest services to see if we can get it replaced with another. We have bought so many mugs in the 13 trips we have been to Disney, always getting a mug. We have never had one that was not washable in the dishwasher.

Hello all,

I haven't been following the Poly thread since our stay last October - I tend to get active on the boards when we have a trip coming up and then fall off after the trip. Both for time, and because it's kind of depressing to be reading all about everyone's upcoming trips when ours just ended! Now we have another stay booked for October and I'm getting all excited again. I'm working my way through reading this entire thread, but I'm only on page 80 or so and I have a couple of questions that I haven't seen answers to, and realized I can't remember ever reading them. But I can't promise, I'm sorry if it's all repeats!

Anyway, we're booked in a lagoon view club level room. We actually wanted GV CL, but could only get LV and that was after checking on the website multiple times a day. I was all depressed (ok, not really depressed, because in the grand scheme of life this is nothing, but I was dissappointed) that we couldn't get CL with the fall discount. I was so excited when it randomly popped up a few nights ago as available. Despite the extra $$, I am getting excited about the LV. I hope it doesn't spoil us into always wanting LV, like our first CL stay spoiled us into always wanting CL!

My question is, can you hear the Wishes and Hallowishes music in the rooms in any way, like through the TV on a designated channel? My husband is excited to be able to see the fireworks from our balcony (hopefully) instead of the lounge. But I think the music is what makes the fireworks, particularly during MNSSHP, and I think if we can't hear the music I would still rather be in the lounge. If you can't hear the music in any way, does anyone feel the fireworks are still just as good from your room? I can't imagine they would be.

I guess that was a super long winded way to ask a question, sorry!

I prefer not to listen to the music. I think it's time for a change. I can only be surprised when "The Blue Fairy" shows up to save the day so many times.

We may have washed it in the dishwasher 2 to 3 times and noticed Mickey's Head Peeling Off on the one side and part of the P and Flowers on the side that say Disney's Polynesian. It is my husband's mug and he was disappointed. I called the number on top of the receipt. They were very accommodating. They asked me if I wanted a refund or a replacement. They did say if I wanted a replacement that they could not guarantee that the same thing would not happen again. We decided to get a replacement and wash by hand. It was just delivered by UPS no charge. We have many Disney mugs as well and this is the first one with a decal that does not hold up in the dishwasher. I am sure you will have no problem when you call Guest Services. You just need to decide if you want to replace or refund.

It is so awesome that they did this for you. Gotta love Disney and the Poly for how they treat their guests. It is treatment you would not get anywhere else.
