41 days until we are at the POLY for the first time! Excited is an understatement! I've been enjoying all the pictures on this thread and can't wait to experience the beauty of this resort.
I just did online check in last night. Requested Samoa, 3rd floor!!!!
Doing the happy dance! :cool1:

You are going to LOVE the Poly :goodvibes. I hope you get your request. We stayed in Samoa and loved it as it's very convenient and is just steps from everything. Have a great trip :wizard:.

Just paid off the balance of the Poly portion of our stay :cool1: Used our rewards money.............it was kinda sad to see that balance go to $0.00 :(
but at least it went to a good cause!!!

Why do we get so excited when we give our money to Disney???

It's always a good feeling to be paid in full ::yes::.

But I know what you mean....every time I made a payment, it didn't bother me one bit!

It doesn't bother me either.....I actually get more excited because it's one payment closer to being paid in full with nothing to pay when we arrive :thumbsup2.

You were sad??? :confused3 I was ECSTATIC!!!! :hyper:

Well I was happy with my Resort balance going to $0.00, but VERY sad to see my Rewards Card balance go to $0.00 :thumbsup2

20 days! Still not happy about not having a fridge in the hot summer (especially since we fly and use DME-so no car to buy a cooler- but at least knowing 3 weeks in advance will help us come up with a plan B!

Update! I just got off the phone with Nicole at Poly IPO, (who by the way I am going to have to send a gift basket to because she has dealt with me about 10 times in the last month!! :lmao: ) she has assured me I don't need to bring a cooler. She said they are currently switching out the refridgerators in the rooms that aren't occupied and if by chance we get a room that doesn't have a new fridge then she will find one and swap it out or move us to to a different room if necessary. :thumbsup2 So I feel pretty confident now we will have a fridge! About 5 minutes after she and I hung up I got an email back too. So now I have double confirmation of a fridge. Thank goodness!!!!!! :cloud9:

It seems like a petty thing to be concerned about, and I feel bad for even bothering the CMs with this, but I'm sure everyone here knows how important a fridge can be, especially in July and especially with kids.

This is pretty different from what I've heard everywhere else. Could this just be the case for CL rooms but not standard rooms?

It's my understanding that they're currently removing the fridges in unoccupied rooms so as not to inconvience guest that are CURRENTLY there (and then they're removing them as current guests check-out.) However, it's highly possible - in fact likely - that those fridges, once removed, are not going to be replaced until sometime within the next 4 months as that is their timeline for all the fridge replacements throughout all the resorts.

It's also my understanding that fridge requests can be made for medical necessity, but that they can't be guaranteed. Now granted, I haven't talked to anyone yet, but this is my understanding from what I've read as I've been following this since it "broke" yesterday. Feeling very confused on this issue!! :confused3

We'll be there next week. I have no idea what to expect :rotfl: I will update y'all on if we have a fridge or not! :rotfl:

They are so tired of dealing with me they are probably just going to give me a fridge to shut me up! :lmao:

Hopefully my phone # isn't blacklisted with IPO now. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

THat is good to know but I wonder if it is only for CL only. We aren't staying CL & I rely on that fridge. I still have 3 weeks so I will wait another week or two & then call in a request for a fridge & tell my sister to do as well.

It's not petty at all!! I like my fridge. Do I really want to walk all the way to Captain Cooks at 10pm for soda (Or whatever) when I can just go in my fridge in my jammies & get it. I would be really scary at that hour in my holey jammies & no bra (eeekkk..) going to Captain Cooks BTW! We do breakfast in our room. Mainly to save time. I have no desire to fight the hoards of people in Captain cooks just to buy milk & soy milk (I have one that is fully dairy allergic, not lactose) for their cereal in the am.

Plus yes cold water. Tap water stinks and is gross but it comes out warm in FL so all the ice I would add to my insulated (thermos metal) water bottles would be melted & I'd have to start over from scratch.

The fridge is part of my enjoyment of my vacation (really it is).

My dh just got off the phone with Disney. She said they're removing the fridges from the unoccupied rooms and replacing them and then as current guests check out, they're replacing those as well. She said they plan to have the Poly completed within a week.

Take that for what it's worth, but it doesn't sound like a mass removal, but rather a bunch at a time as the occupancy arises. I'm sure some rooms may still be fridge-less when you check in, but it may not be as huge a deal as we all think. I just wish there were consistent answers for this!

Just booked SOA and the barber shop in MK as a surprise for DH! I wanted Ohana first and then thought wait instead of stressing myself out trying to get Ohana we will do SOA! I did it when I was 13(will turn 39 next month) and DH hasnt enjoyed it yet so Im excited!

We are doing AK that day so we will be back at the resort by 2pm at the latest so we can swim and relax and get a snack before the 8 pm show!

Hi guys, I've looked through the Tikiman's site as well, but still confused.
Which longhouse is niece for a family of 16month-old an 4yrs old? I have a request in for Tokelau, but should we request for Samoa? This is for the standard garden view room.....

I would put in both b/c you can't go wrong with either and that way even tho requests are never guaranteed there is a good chance you'll get one..

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & CR Sept 8-15, 2013

Does the Poly accept faxed room requests at all? (Like POR/PoFQ) just curious. :-)

We did SoA in September 2007 and we loved it. We thought the food was good and the show was cute (a little cheesy in parts, but the fire dancers at the end were amazing) :goodvibes.

I agree with the pp that I would put both requests. With that said, we stayed in Samoa and loved it. It's very convenient as it's just steps from the GCH, the pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks :thumbsup2.

Anyone here know if there is a February 2014 specific thread somewhere for the POLY? Thanks we are so excited for our very first stay!!!

There are no specific threads by month. The "June 2013" date in the thread title just means this was the last time a new Poly thread was opened up because the previous one filled up. :)

Over on the WL thread, WDWKOOK wrote that only a few fridges there had the problem and would be done in a week as well, but for some places like Pop or AOA, it could take the four months. Maybe only the refurbed room fridges only have the problem? The values only got their fridges recently, so maybe this is a case of older is better.
