Does the Poly accept faxed room requests at all? (Like POR/PoFQ) just curious. :-)

I was shocked at the amount of requests you can put in on the online check in now! You can request certain buildings, floors, near the GCH, TTC etc..

Just booked SOA and the barber shop in MK as a surprise for DH! I wanted Ohana first and then thought wait instead of stressing myself out trying to get Ohana we will do SOA! I did it when I was 13(will turn 39 next month) and DH hasnt enjoyed it yet so Im excited!O

We are doing AK that day so we will be back at the resort by 2pm at the latest so we can swim and relax and get a snack before the 8 pm show!

I can't wait to try SOA!! My DH and I are trying it for the 1st time.

?? I only had the buildings and upper or ground floor and maybe balcony? And you could only choose 2?

I would put in both b/c you can't go wrong with either and that way even tho requests are never guaranteed there is a good chance you'll get one..

Sounds good, will do that! thank you!:)

I agree with the pp that I would put both requests. With that said, we stayed in Samoa and loved it. It's very convenient as it's just steps from the GCH, the pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks :thumbsup2.

Hmm....I'll put Samoa for my 1st request then. My kids love pool, so it probably is a good ideal to stay right by the volcano pool!:stitch2:

Have fun. We really enjoyed it and although it's not something we would do every trip, we would go again :goodvibes.

I didn't know too much about the Poly when I booked it, but I did know that Samoa was right next to the volcano pool, so that was one of the main reasons I requested it. Then once we got there, I fell in love with it more when I realized how convenient to was to everything else :thumbsup2.

Well what I meant was in the old online check in the only thing you could request was like roll away bed, or something like that.. I just remember it certainly didnt have all the choices you have now, even if its only 2 its still more than what you could request online before! Besides the building and balcony was ALL I wanted to request..lol

So can anyone tell me what I should except when I get to poly good or bad things will help.

Good: great location, amazing views, relaxing ambiance, monorail access

Bad: only thing I can think of is ppl trying to pool hop

I second this bad part. We were just at Poly last week and it was a nightmare trying to find even one chair for our family of 4. Finally, DH went down to the pool one morning and put something on 2 chairs just so we could have a place to sit. The pool situation is not good there.... It's my only real complaint, besides the non-Poly guests who go to Poly to watch Wishes and don't respect the people who have room views to watch the show. People stand up in front of premium-view buildings, which really doesn't block the view of the fireworks, but you lose the view of the water parade and the Castle. Also, during busy times and when a lot of people go to Poly for Wishes, the grass should be roped off so that Poly guests with patios can enjoy the show without hundreds of people blocking views.

So, really, my only 2 complaints involve all the non-Poly guests that make Poly way too crowded and overwhelmed with people. So much so that it blocks premium views that the Poly has to offer.

The good:

Starting from when you see the signs for the MK resorts/Polynesian. It's like a kid in the candy shop. Then the entrance & then you walk in, ahh..it's paradise.

Then that first walk out of the GCH & you hear the toot toots of the boats, the train whistle, the howl from the Haunted mansion. Then you see the castle & the view.

It doesn't matter if you have garden view, lagoon view, theme park view, CL or not, you are at the Poly. Your view will be amazing. The lushness of the landscape & the peacefulness of it as well. There are no screaming kids (OK the pool might be another story) but it is calm. You can sit outside and think or daydream.

Crazy dh & I. We have watched Illuminations & then high tailed it out of Epcot, got on the monorail & watched wishes from the beach. That was great.

Um..the monorail to Epcot. The walkway is peaceful to the TTC.

When we go to DtD or any other place/park that needs a bus to go to we always make sure we look for the bus that goes to the TTC and the Poly & which ever comes first we take. The TTC is a bit longer walk but after all the eating we do, we can use that walk.

We love the resort launch.

The bad:

Not sure but like every pool, chairs are hard to come by. I am thrilled to get one. We only use it to eat so it's no biggie since we are in the pool. I haven't gone during a crazy holiday week, well minus Easter week in 1999, but I didn't realize how crazy it gets right before. So I just deal with the normal pool no seat deal.

Oh & the pool deck is hot! The quiet pool is a scorcher to walk on barefoot.

I couldn't agree with you more. We were also there last week (7/1 - 7/10th) and having the 4th of July fireworks ALL.WEEK.LONG was not good -- it meant Polynesian guests had to share EVERYTHING with non-resort guests every.single.night.

We've been going on vacation for the 4th of July for many years now and we **know** to expect crowds on the 4th -- but NOT all week long. It really ruin our experience this year. :(

So you experienced what I did, unfortunately. I was thinking of sending a letter to Guest Relations (or wherever it should go) expressing my feelings on this very matter. We stayed CL in Hawaii with a patio room and we LOVED this room/view, but it was tainted by all the non-Poly guests blocking our view that we paid a great chunk of money for. I did see the management/staff/security do what they could, but I believe the situation is WAY out of control.

We have been at the Poly since 27th June, 3 more days to go...

We have loved it, I was a bit concerned before we came about the non poly guests and how busy everything would get but we have found it ok ( think I was imagining the worst). That said we didn't watch the fireworks here on the 3rd or 4th of July. We have used the quiet pool most of the time as its just outside our door. I love the location and the transport options, no problems at all with the monorail and the walk from ttc is really short.

Enjoying Captain Cooks as well, we have the dining plan so worked our way round most of the menu. Kona was great as was the breakfast at Ohana. The dinner at Ohana was okay, food was good, service was ok but I wouldn't rush back.

Watching wishes and the electrical water pageant from the beach is super and we stayed and watched monsters inc the other night.

We are on Tokelau but if I was like you and had that lovely view I would have been very unhappy too!

I think you should absolutely let them know your feelings. We've only been blessed enough to stay at the Poly once, but I can tell you if we were able to spend money for MK view and CL and that happened I'd be so disappointed. The beach and pool issue with non-resort guests has been an issue for years! Having experienced that as a Poly guest has made me swear to never watch Wishes from there when we're staying elsewhere.

Wow when I booked this I didn't think about all the non guest taking over the poly. I sure hope I don't regret my decision on staying there.
