I believe this is the specs on the machine that was posted by taraPA

Product Details
Help your guests feel "at home" in your hotel, motel, or extended-stay facility with the Conair Cuisinart 2-cup coffee maker. Now your guests can treat themselves to a delicious, fresh cup of coffee in their room! With its side-by-side design, your guest can brew (1) 8 oz cup at a time, or (2) 8 oz cups simultaneously. Helpful features include an illuminated power button, and easy-to-fill water reservoir, and an auto shutoff feature for safety.

Uses standard single-serve coffee pods (not included).

Is this what it looked like TaraPA?

Venom I think they might be in a transitional phase??

Yeah that is possible. I mean it has to be it. The one in my room looked kinda like it, but we had pouches no pods.

Yes that is exactly the unit we had. The pods were identical to the ones posted above yours, the little square individual packets. Inside each was a single serve "pod." Now keep in mind a pod looks just like a filter with grounds inside it (completely sealed), not to be confused with the "cones" or "K-cups" used in other single serve machines. I think there's some confusion here as to what the Cuisinart "pods" actually look like. They are like the filter packs of the old 4-cup pots, but tiny.

You are probably right about the pod differences.. So this should put this dilemma to rest!

The afore mentioned says it's pods but really it coffee in a sealed filter pouch. Like these

That is the machine we had as well, and those are the pods we had. They're PODS not K-Cups. They aren't plastic or anything. Just coffee in a sealed filter.

Yes Carl, those are exactly the pods. Again, there is some confusion here over what is a Cuisinart "pod" as compared to other brand "pods" or pod-style sigle-serve units. Out of curiousity I just texted an old friend that works at Poly. She is asking around now - unofficially of course - said she'll get right back to me. She's in retail operations though, so she may not have the most accurate info.

Ohhhh connections! I like it! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Rented cabana this am, some showers but some sun shine. Was hoping slide would open but was told a few more weeks.
On the way to dinne at Ohanas this eve what do you know slide was open, hoe it stays open for some fun tomorrow.

OH MY! all this dilemma over coffee!!! :rotfl: makes me glad I detest the stuff :rotfl: give me my diet coke and I am happy :rotfl:

LOL! She's fairly new, not sure she has any "connecting"!! Ok she wants to know why on earth I need to know this. I said not to ask questions, just to get the answers! She said the general consensus is that every room has been changed over to the Cuisinart double single-serve pod machines. She has a friend in Housekeeping that she'll see later or tomorrow & will ask her. I would assume someone in Housekeeping would know for sure.

We are certainly a determined group when it comes to getting to the bottom of the in room coffee, love it!

I can't imagine that they wouldn't change every room. What would be the point of changing some and not others? :confused3 And hey a connection is a connection!

Ugh. Well, i calledmousekeeping two or three days ago, and them woman I spoke to said it was a regular 4 cup coffee maker! What the heck is goin on here ?! :lmao: Hopefully they will have access to some of the regular coffee makers if they are n fact changing them over. Cause I love my Tim Hortons!

I'm glad you posted these pics. I've been watching this tread unfold with the coffee debate and I had a hunch people were confused on this whole "POD" terminology, lol. I have always used the coffee in the little serving closed in filter things on vacations for convenience so I was thinking these things were somewhat similar to that verses the fancy pants "PODS" that are all the rage these days :thumbsup2

As a former Chief Engineer of a large resort, this is how this works. We would buy 300 of any simi soft good product and store them. (we got a deal) then as needed we replaced them. Since it does not change the theme or overall decor this was successful and economical. By the time they were gone we had at least 200 rooms replaced. Much cheaper than sending one or two of my guys to replace them all at once. you would be surprised how many stupid things walk out the rooms. Remote, batteries to the remote, sheets, pillows, alarm clock, coffee pot, and the number one theft item...... Room 420 sign! (Some of you know)

Was it Willie Nelson that stole the 420 signs?

Did I read right? Is the slide in fact open?!?!? And I can't wait to find out about the coffee makers. Like I said, as long as they can get me a regular one from somewhere (trade with another room or something) I will be happy. I have to say though, it's a bit dissapointing that with such an expensive hotel, you can't just call the front desk and get a straight answer.

All right.....blond roots here....(dyed brown to look smarter)....I don't get the Room 420 thing. Can someone explain???

Chiming in on the coffee debate, I would love to hear a taste-comparison to the old coffee. I hated the in-room coffee--even using bottled water to make it. Coffee always tasted old... like licking an ashtray.. Although the Nescafe from CCs isn't very strong, at least it tasted decent. (Contemporary Grounds coffee and Kona presspots taste the best:thumbsup2)

It was WONDERFUL! I can see why Poly has such a huge fan base. We got off the bus & just started taking pictures like a bunch of tourists! Another guest walks by & says "it never gets old, does it?"

Check in was smooth around 1pm but the room wasn't ready til about 4:30, so we did a lot of meandering around the resort. We were in room #1941 at the end of Tokelau near GCH. This was the absolute best location for us, soooo close to everything, that I'd request this exact location again. It was only a few steps to the left to the TTC, a few steps straight out to the resort buses, a few steps off the patio (we were 1st floor) right into the quiet pool, and a few steps to the right to the GCH & Captain Cooks. LOVED IT!

The room was HUGE and immaculate. No complaints at all. Ok, well, the AC unit was loud. I mean LOUD like a plane was taking off in the room. This actually became a positive, as my friend got a nasty 24-hour stomach bug around midnight that 1st night - and with that on, I didn't hear a thing! She spent the whole 2 days & nights at the resort - she never left. She said she had a great time (other than being sick) just relaxing in the room for 24 hours, then venturing out to walk around.
Sorry your friend caught the stomach bug. I wouldn't mind just lying on my bed at the Poly for 24 hours instead of my bed at home...I'd NEVER get peace and quiet at home. I remember getting a migraine during my GF stay. And I got a wonderful nap and felt like a new woman after....

My DH liked the loud AC, it helped him sleep :confused3

Yep, the Poly never gets "old"! Thanks for thr TR...now off to check out your Poly pics!!!

I just looked it up and it said it was the universal sign for marijuana.
