Just posting to say that 4 months from right now we will be back at the Polynesian (staying CL for the third time).
Can't wait!!

Can't wait!!

NICE! So many hoosiers on this thread! YAY!I went to Ball State though but gotta respect the Train! LOL...
...from our 5/22 - 5/28 stay. Overall it was a FANTASTIC trip. I'll post a few photos later. A few highs & lows:
1 - Checkin was a bit slow, but probably because I requested a room change. I wanted to be first, floor Samoa and they moved me there, but that caused a slower checkin. If we had stayed with our original room, it would have been ready when we arrived at 11 AM!
2 - Thought my phone was stolen at Blizzard Beach (totally stupid for even taking in there), but the folks at the front desk helped me use the internet right there and we were able to locate it via "MobileMe" and found it was actually in my room, lost in my bag. They were very kind to take the time to help me.
3 - Dinner at OHana was just OK. Partly my fault for making the reservation too late (8:30 PM...it was all I could get). But the waiter did a terrible job of "reading" his table and was making lame jokes when we just wanted to wrap it up and put the kids (falling asleep at the table) to bed.
4 - Had to be at HS by 7:30 on Wed due to a special breakfast & 1st ride on Toy Story (arranged by our travel agent...yes, my girls were THE FIRST people of the entire day on TSM and we didn't have to run for it or anything. We were led there before the park opened.) Anyway, the CM at concierge said the buses didn't start until 7 AM and he feared we might miss it. I decided to take a taxi and he gave us a FREE voucher so we didn't have to pay. It even included the tip!
5 - Volcano pool was closed M, T, & W, which kind of sucked. As a pp said, it didn't look like anything critical. Most of the work I saw them doing was replacing the caulk in the sidewalk cracks.
6 - I didn't find the room dark at all. The bathroom, however, needed more light.
7 - Not Poly related, but the most horrible thing...our cat died while we were gone. Got home and dd (9) found him dead in one of the bedrooms. Put a very bad ending to an otherwise wonderful trip. (And yes, we had someone caring for him, but she texted me on Sat AM to say he hadn't eaten anything from Friday but she didn't search the house. He was old, but I hate I wasn't there when he died...)
Will post more later!
ETA: Mousekeeping came at a good time for us. When we got back to our room, whether it was 2 PM or 5 PM, it was always done. And...
8 - they absolutely need more seating and more shade around the volcano pool. They should line up lounge chairs and reduce the number of tables. Getting a place to sit where you could keep an eye on your kids in the pool was just about impossible. There are plenty of loungers on the beach, but they aren't close enough to really keep an eye on the kiddos.
That made me sooo sad to read, I cried for you. I know how much our furbabies become part of a family, and losing a beloved pet is hard on the whole family....My heart goes out to you all...I hope you remember the happy times you had with your pet, and I pray it helps ease the sadness. Just had to say I feel for you

My DH grew up in Indy and also graduated from Ball State. We're headed up to Lafayette later this month to visit family. Small world...
I love that this thread is flooded with hoosiers or hoosier-related! So cool!
Not sure why, but just walked past the quiet pool and it's closed.![]()

Or someone had one too many lapu lapu's and regurgitated some back into the pool?

Maybe someone found a "baby ruth" bar floating?Or someone had one too many lapu lapu's and regurgitated some back into the pool?
If it's not lightening... then usually one of the above will shut it down for ??? period of time to get it cleaned out... OR maybe an issue with the refurb, such as a leak...
I dunno... who am I kidding? I'm just sitting in OKLAHOMA wishing I was there!![]()
Ok... so another question. I know because Poly is a deluxe resort so the allotted credit is $1500. BUT... is that for any amount of stay? A friend was asking if they come for two nights do they still get extended the same credit? I told him I thought it was for any stay 1 night to 20 nights... that when you hit the $1500 they charge the card on file and it starts over. Is that correct?![]()

Disney's policy with credit card charging is strange.. You do get $1500 limit. But you need to keep track of it. When you get close to the limit you should ho to the desk and tell them to charge it down on your credit card. The catch is wye they charge your card they only take half.. Then later take the other..
In other words.. When You tell them to charge off the $1500 limit on your card.. They will do that. But you will only see half of that charge that day.. IE $750 and a few days later you will see $1500 charge. They get their money but for some odd reason it takes them a while to get it.
It is not automatic as far as when you reach your resort limit. You must request them to charge your card in order to charge more than $1500.
And yes that is 1 day or 20 days..
It does not transfer.. You start all over with the new reservation.. They close out the other one as ifbyou went home.Awesome! Thanks! I have never stayed less than 4 nights so I wasn't 100% sure.... although I thought it didn't matter.
Here's another one... if I have 2 reservations for one trip... i.e. room only for the first night then package the remainder 6 nights... does that transfer or do they have to charge it and start over? Not that I really care, just more curious as this is what we are doing in November. TIA!
And btw... enjoy your trip! I will be checking in on your live feed!![]()
