I'm pretty sure I'm getting ready to change my reservation to the Poly..... We are currently booked at BC but I just can't get the Poly out of my head. I even dream about it....lol!!!

After a mixup w/ our CR Atrium ressie (CM promised DH was Atrium club MK view, turns out just Atrium, no MK view, bummer but moving on...) we are contemplating the Poly TPV CL - since we've tried CR and GF this could be our reason to try Poly. We are trying to decide between TPV CL or just CL, DH really wants the convenience of breaks and CL, I love the TPV but don't want to be disappointed having stayed CR MK View last trip (castle was so close!) Is Hawaii THE place to be for us or does anyone have better opinion (I am hesitant to book as it's a lot more than the CR was, which was a lot to begin w/ anyway)

Being obsessive and having read this entire (wonderful) thread this morning, I am also now nervous about the rehab rumor/asbestos issue w/ 2 small kids?

Any input is greatly appreciated! TIA

Also, forgot to ask - how likely would we be to get a 3rd floor request, and can anyone report if there are double sinks in the vanity of the CL building(s)? THANKS!!

Totally agree! I don't have a Poly trip planned right now but I like coming back to this thread because everyone is so nice

If you book TPV you will have an unobstructed view of the castle -- also you have a perfect view of the fireworks and the lagoon show (or electric water parade).

There are no double sinks in the Hawaii bldg.

I wouldn't be concerned about the asbestos issue ... it's just a rumor ... and asbestos isn't an issue unless someone is actually messing with it.

O.M.G. I could have written the same thing. I just can't stop second guessing our decision to try BLT this year after years of staying at the Poly CL.

I'm just a phone call away from changing our reservations ... I wake up thinking the Polynesian and it's music .......

I'm about to do a split stay for our upcoming trip with both BC and Poly, only because we liked the feel of the BC when we visited last year. But, we adored the Poly so figured we didn't want to choose between them. Hahaha. I'm of no help at all.

We downgraded from the TPV CL to Garden View CL -- but only to allow us to stay extra nights at the beginning of our trip. I bet it's wonderful.

Regarding the room request, it's just luck of the draw with the room assignment. Put your request in and keep your fingers crossed.

Regarding the asbestos, it's only a problem when it becomes airborne. So as long as it's left alone and undisturbed, it poses no threat. That's why you see such extensive, elaborate safety precautions being taken when it gets removed from buildings: body suits, complete face-covering ventilators for the contractors, plastic sheeting everywhere, contained air circulation, etc. Most of us have probably grown up going to schools and then working in buildings that contain asbestos. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's finished! We are now staying at the Poly for our last 3 nights. It's funny because I have wanted the Poly ALL ALONG and kept resisting making the change. I even had a 40% off PIN that I did NOT use (duh). We were originally for our booked at POR with free dining (since last August!!!), then switched to BC/ASMu, then ASMu/BC, now ASMu/Poly! I'm NOT changing again...lol. I think the CM are started to recognize me. The only thing I might add is an AP rate if I decide to do the Wine/Dine 1/2 in October!!

Yes they do play the music in the lounge.

Last time we were there they did.

Tomorrow is my 180 days & I am turning over full control to IPO
They did email me back to confirm they got my requests and I called and gave them my credit card # for the ressies that required it. Now I am hoping and praying that they make them and don't drop the ball.

Oh please let us know how it goes! I'm going to be doing this in June and have heard wonderful reassurances that the IPO's are wonderful at what they do! But I'm such a control freak... however our ADR's fall on a Sunday and I will be at DS's baseball tournament and don't really want to wake up that early (CST) to do it if I don't have to! Good luck!!

DH put his surfing Mickey Hawaiian shirt on yesterday and announced that he kept picturing Capt. Cook's and Kona when he thought about our vacation and then asked, "Why aren't we staying at the Poly?"

I gently reminded him that he wanted to try an Epcot resort and that's why we were staying at the YC (after switching from the BC). He discounted my reasoning and suggested I "make the call" to see if we could switch with our military discount.

Mission accomplished! We're now booked GV/CL. This will be our first Poly CL stay and we're excited about those fantastic lounge views and the sushi and DH is looking forward to trying the Kona Beer. He even wants to rent a cabana. I think I am officially done making anymore resort changes

So, you're not doing a split-stay with the YC -- 100% Poly?!

I am quite keen to try out the Kona beer too. Though not sure I'll have time between Lapu Lapus.

Still a split, but no YC - just CR and Poly. Will the concierge meet us at the Poly monorail station. JK, we're driving over, though I think that it would be fun to monorail over with all our luggage

Time? How much time does one need for a Kona beer chaser? We are members of the LSSSG. We shall find the time! (And a nice soft chaise to nap in).

My husband fell in love with that Kona Beer last Sept! World Market sells it here in town so I get it for him when I am in there..

I remember when we walked in the Hawaii building and sat down to check in and I looked over to the left my face must have been priceless b/c the CM giggled at me. I was in awe at the view! Breath taking!! I cant wait to go back!!

I'm hoping to feel the exact same way when we walk into the Hawaii bldg. That's how I feel at the CR looking at Bay Lake from the Tower and at the WL when I walk in the lobby. Now you've got me even more excited - thanks!
