Also is the food at Capt Cooks good?

We love it!! The Aloha pork sandwich is to die for!! The other sandwiches are pretty good and I've had their flatbreads in the past - very good!! We haven't had many breakfasts, I think the kids had eggs and pancakes once. The kids meals are OK, not great. They have a large selection of pastries for breakfast, snack or dessert - I ADORE the chocolate chip croissant, even brought 3 home! DH is a big Dole Whip fan and the kids like the Mickey ice cream bars.

It is a lovely resort

Tokelau is one of the longhouses that has balconies on the second and third floors, so you shouldn't have a problem getting your request.

For a backup, I think Fiji is a good one, but Samoa would work well too. If your main request was "Balcony - Tokelau" then you should be able to get what you want.

Just sent our completed questionnaire to the Poly IPO! Very excited! When your trip is still over 6 months away it's the small victories that help!

I feel ya!! I was slightly terrified yet excited that I had to email IPO about an ADR I forgot during my 180 days a couple weeks ago. Wouldn't ya know, they were able to get a California Grill ADR during fireworks time for my mom and gparents.

Another CL first-timer, though we'll be there at the end of September.

We're kinda "don't want to be pinned down" people, so we've only got 2 ADRs during the Poly portion of our trip. We're doing the Garden View Tea Room one afternoon and dinner at Kona the night before we leave. For the first part of our trip, during our stay at the BC, we've only got 3 ADRs: 2 at Cape May (breakfast and dinner) and one for TRex since the kiddo adores dinosaurs. I don't do well with too much commitment...

What are your Poly dates? We'll be there at the end of the month, too.

SIX WEEKS from today I will be at the POLINESIAN!!!! I am getting SO excited I can't stand it. DH doesn't want to hear about it any more, but DD#2 & I cannot stop e-mailing back & forth today talking about all we are going to see/do/EAT/DRINK!!! I'm wishing the next 42 days away, then want the 7 after that to crawl by.

We are planning a trip during "Jersey Week" in November and are returning after several years absence to our home away from home. The last time we stayed at the Poly in 2007 they did not offer the movie on the beach. We loved this perk when we stayed at the BC and were just wondering if this goes on all year?

Sweet! I'll have to dig out my DIS Mickey Polynesian Head from last year for my bag. Also, you'll be able to spot me as I'll be the one tearing my hair out from being badgered all day long by my 4 year old for either a) being constantly hungry b) wanting to stay in the swimming pool all day long and/or c) wanting every single toy she sets her eyes upon (heavens help us when we hit the Lego store in DTD).

Her and my DS7 will have a blast together then! Just look for the frazzled redhead with a baby strapped to her while chasing a wild 7 year old. That will be me! My parents will probably be somewhere behind me...or just hanging back in the lounge lol

Usually you'll hear from them a little before your 180 day mark, but you can email them and introduce yourself. I emailed Poly's IPO and they sent me the questionnaire, and then they also sent me another introductory email about a week before our 180 day mark. I didn't email GF, but they emailed me about a week and a half before the 180 mark.

The night I booked a club level room... I emailed them. We've been in constant contact since. Now, that being said, I've STILL never seen even evidence of this "survey/ information form" people keep speaking about...

Have you asked them for it? If you've conveyed your requests though email, maybe they've filled it in for you.

Just curious....what do they do at the Beach Club pool?

We've only stayed at the Beach Club once and that was Christmas week (can you tell DH is a teacher with all my "worst times to go" trips ), so I can't guarantee this is always how its done... When we were there a CM was stationed at the entrance to the storm along bay area checking room cards and banding guests as they went in. They did not allow you in the area without a room card.

I am THRILLED to hear this!!! I hope they keep it up. Just curious, did you see anyone getting turned away from the pool because they weren't guests?

I was happy about it too. I didn't see anyone turned away, but my mom was on the beach in a lounge chair when she was asked for her room card. We had a fabulous room location, ground floor samoa volcano pool side. We had left everything on our patio (my sister was sitting there while one of the kids napped) so she didn't have her card. She had to come back for it and they did come back and check.
I will be interested to see if it continues. The weather was great but it wasn't really "hot" yet and the pool was already full. We're going back in July, I can't imagine it fitting tons more people, but hopefully the quiet pool will be back by then...

Ok - have to post a quick message today to see my ticker... I am under one month now!!!! Yippee - hoping to get a countdown calendar made this weekend for the kids. (It was supposed to be done already!)

For those of you keeping up - I didn't see the guinea hen yesterday... hoping that my neighbor found a way to get it back in its pen - or it is bothering someone else - fingers crossed!

As for the Poly Club and reservations - it is our first time staying there. We actually made a lot of reservations. (at least one a day).... but the club level was really about the location for me - and some snacks/drinks. Really I have little kids and they don't get the eat a big meal now we'll just eat a little later. So we really have to sit down for a lot of meals. Plus since this is their first time to the world we are doing a lot of the "special" type dining evenets.

I think it's great that they're checking. About time! I hope they continue to check id's since pool hoppers were such a problem there.
