There is no package. It's $9.95 a day. It is provided by a different contractor. Disney has nothing to do with it. You can also pay by the hour but that could get really expensive! I don't know if you have it in your area but we have a couple companies that provide 3G access to the internt for laptops. Verizon and Clear offer this at reasonable prices!

We have AT&T. I have the mulitmedia package on my phone, but he wants to be able to check his precious games in Facebook.:sad2:

I was told that there is no internet access/wi-fi at the Poly. Is that true?

That is true ! The only wifi available at poly is Disney's network. I believe GF and I know CR has wifi but they still charge for it there! If you want wifi you can bring your own wifi router and pay for wired.

There is wired access available for a $9.95 a day

Uhhm.. Okay!! I don't think I would pay $10 a day to stay in my room
and play facebook games.. To each his own.. :cool1:

I stream live video of my balcony views so I pay the $9.95 a day (I did just buy into DVC so members get it free when staying at DVC room) but if your lucky enough to room next to someone like me I bring my wireless router but thats like a 1000 to 1 shot.

If you have a smartphone, may I suggest a program called EasyTether? I have it and LOVE IT. It's a free program that allows you to use your 3G enabled smartphone as a "hotspot", save for any https sites. If you want to use secure sites (https), upgrade to the paid version ($10). But if you're just looking for service for your laptop to facilitate a quick Facebook check in / Farmville harvest (LOL), EasyTether will suit your needs just fine!

Just make sure that you have an "unlimited data" plan through your service provider.

PS - I have Motorola DROID with Verizon service.

Do you have to have a certain carrier to use this service?

Hi Polynesian fans :wave2:

I'm just peeking in to see what's going on at the Polynesian lately. :sunny: We leave 5 weeks from tomorrow! :woohoo:

My DH had a massive heart attack last week but all of the doctors say that as long as he continues to do as well as he has been doing, there's no reason that he can't go. We'll make sure to take it easy (we're not park commandos anyway). We're staying in a lagoon view room in the Hawaii building, and we've requested a first floor room just so we can avoid stairs. I know there's an elevator of course, but we often used the stairs just to get some extra exercise in to work off the Disney food. lol

Thanks to everyone who continue to post updates, experiences, and photos. :thumbsup2 I'll definitely post a review when we get back. :)

Seaspray, It is great to hear from you. I am glad that you DH is on the mend. What a wonderful place to go and relax! Here is some extra pixie dust for a stong recovery.

Sorry to hear about your DH. Hopefully he continues to recover well and you can relax and enjoy your trip!

We're going to be in a similar boat when we head down... my DS8 is having a pacemaker put in on the 18th and then we head down 2 months later. Just gives us a reason to take it slow and really enjoy the resort and not try to push it this trip. :thumbsup2 We just had to wait till 6 weeks post op so he'll be able to swim in the pool... going down and not being able to enjoy the Poly pool would be pure torture!

So sorry to hear about your husband but very glad he is on the mend. I hope you have a magical vacation and that all continues to go well for your family.

SeaSpray, I am so sorry to hear about your husband, that is my worst fear! Well.... one of them, anyway! I'm glad he's ok.

I have a very specific question that I predict no one will be able to answer, but you never know unless you try, right?

We are currently booked for a GV room for Dec. Our last trip was GF RPC and I just really, really, really want to stay CL again when we go to the Poly. I absolutely loved having access to the lounge on our last trip. That said, my dh cannot eat anything with gluten in it. In the RPC, they were unwilling to make any accommodations at all (like even seeing to it that there were tortilla chips or potato chips available) in the lounge. So, dh ended up having to go to Gasparilla's most nights because he really could not eat much of what they had at the lounge. I understand that GF and Poly share IPO, I don't quite get whether that means their lounge services are linked, as well. So after much ado, on to my question, lol... has anyone who cannot eat gluten had any experiences at Poly's CL lounge to share? If dh could eat at the CL lounge, we would find the extra expense totally worth it. However, if it is really only going to feed myself and the kids, and dh will have to split up with us all the time to find something at Captain Cook's, it's just not worth it. Money-wise, it isn't, and logistically, it will be a pain... we want to be together as much as possible... it is a family trip!

Thanks in advance if anyone has any gluten-free CL experiences to share! :littleangel:

Chef Dick, the ultimate chef in in club level lounge will be retiring in 3 weeks!! A happy time for him, A sad time for all the rest of us! :worship:

Thanks for posting that view. :cloud9:

Is it July yet? I need my Polynesian fix.

Wow what a view???!!!

I'm so pysched 2 days & 12 hours until my 1st Poly stay & it's Club level.

Captain's Cook's question???

I read that it's open 24 hours. Do they have a more limited menu if it's late at night?

We'll be arriving around 10:30 p.m.

Just got back from 7 nights at the Poly on Saturday and had a wonderful time! Stayed in Tahiti GV room 1008. Didn't have any maintenance issues of any sort and both of our adjoining rooms were great. The walk to the GCH was less than five minutes and the proximity to the TTC was great for us. It was nice to know that we were in some of the largest rooms on property...

All of the staff were great, from the front desk to Captain Cooks to Ohana and mousekeeping. Never saw a single issue that a very few others have been complaining about recently.

The parks were pretty crowded however. Especially on our arrival weekend (5/21-23).
