Woke up at 5:30 to do my online check in! We are doing the single digit dance!![]()
lucky you!! I've been trying online check in since yesterday. Keep getting a "unavailable, please try again" message!
We checked into the Poly on May 13th for 7 days. I had requested Samoa building facing the Volcano Pool at the time I made the reservation. I did online check in about 3 days prior to our arrival. When we checked in at 9:30 am, I was informed that we were not able to get our request for Samoa building, but that we had been upgraded to the Hawaii building (concierge). I was so surprised and overjoyed. I couldn't thank the desk clerk enough. On top of this great news, the room was actually ready at 9:30 am! What a wonderful way to start our vacation. Our room was steps from the Volcano pool and we also enjoyed the luxuries of the lounge. This was our first Poly stay and we are really hooked. I don't forsee wanting to stay anywhere else in the near future. Even without the upgrade, we just fell in love with the Poly. The ability to go into Captain Cooks at any hour and get a Dole Whip was also a huge plus. The grounds are lush and beautiful, and the tiki torches at night just add to the ambiance. The monorail made travel so easy as we had 3 little one's that could just roll onto and off of the monorail. Also, we had a resort photopass session done at Poly. It was well worth the $ and time spent. The pictures came out great with all the beautiful Poly grounds and out photographer was a pleasure. Would definately do the photo session again. It was $99 and we got 123 pics on CD plus a few 8X10's and 5X7's for that price-nice. It was a great trip. We are counting the days until we are able to get back to Poly. We did book the bounceback for Oct., although we'll have to see if we are really going to be able to do that over the next few months, fingers crossed. It was 40% off deluxe rooms. Anyone who has an upcoming trip, have a great time.
Hi Poly friends
Sorry I have been MIA but life gets in the way some times! I need to catch up!
We actually have NO trip planned at this point due to some health issues I am having but no worries...I will be going to Disney to celebrate when I get all this behind me![]()
For now we are jetting off to Colorado for the long holiday weekend to visit family and a little R&R. It is no Disney, but it sure is beautiful there!
I hope everyone has a fabulous trip and I love reading all the great reviews.

I can answer a few of your questions. They do have the torch lighting ceremony at 6 pm. It starts in the lobby and moves outside. I made my two boys RUN with me from Tahiti last Tuesday to the lobby in flip flops so we wouldn't miss it!!! It is pretty neat. I am not sure what days they have it but when you check-in, I would just ask.
They also have the hula lessons on Saturday for sure. The day we checked-in they were happening in the lobby. My family didn't participate but it looked fun. I think they were going on for awhile that afternoon.
The pool bar menu.... well, I frequented the pool bar a little too oftenbut I did not notice any food items but on the other hand, I wasn't looking for food
. The drinks I tried were all good including the Mango Margarita, Poolside Lemonade, and of course, the PinaColava. My husband had the Yeunling, Blue Moon, and one other beer and said they were good too! As far as a pool waitress, I did not see one the four times we swam in the pool or any other time we were there. Maybe that is a summer service?
Hope this helps!!!!![]()

Sorry to hear the bad news! I hope that whatever health concerns you have they will resolve itself! With all the work that you have done on this thread I almost feel guilty about going! (I did say almost!) enjoy your family vacation!![]()
Nice to see you here BreezysMom! I'm sorry to hear about more health issues. I'd say come visit me while you are in Colorado (that's where I live) but we're going to Alaska. No characters, no throngs of crowds, no hot weather,...it's my husband's idea. He said we had to go to Alaska before we go back to Disney so we are going to Alaska...then to Disney in September

Hey all. I am contemplating booking a 4 night Disney cruise at the end of December to celebrate my moms graduation from her PhD program.
We are going to need one nights stay the day before the trip so I am thinking of booking a night at the Poly. Only problem is that it is CRAZY expensive for a single night, room only. Over $500/night! I mean, I had a great 10 night stay back on March at the Poly, and I would love to stay there again. But not at $500/night for a garden view room.
Guess it is the CBR for me this time. lame.
I finally got to check in online today!! I kept getting a unavailable message because Disney had me listed as a Rabbi, as a priest you have to use a different link to access the online check in. I am not a priest, so they took it off for me!![]()
I have a really silly preggo-woman request for someone who will be staying at the Poly in December. Can someone see if you can get "fruit topping" (strawberry goo) on the waffles for breakfast? I'm looking at all the menus and it looks like you can't! I hope the menus are wrong, the strawberry waffles are one of my faves when we go to WDW (we usually stay at values or mods).
Thank you!!![]()
We had planned on staying at the CBR for our vacation, but then my husband said lets stay four days at the CBR, pirate roomsfor my kids and then transfer over to the Poly for seven days....hey you don't have to twist my arm!!! Only twelve more days and we will be in the world!! Yeah...I just had to share
Oh yes we are arriving on our first day and staying at SOG to check it out for future vacations...we plan on walking over to Poly so we can see the resort....So that is twelve wonderful days of fun. I don't know who is more excited me or the kids....
