From a fellow Ohioan, we REALLY like Tokelau! It's directly adjacent to the quiet pool and not far from the Volcano pool. Not far from anything acutally!! Very centrally located to the pools, beaches, GCH and the TTC. We particularly like the East side (facing Tahiti not the quiet pool). Adjacent to a nice grassy area, Lagoon is just to the left and it's Very quiet there!

That sounds perfect. Thanks for the help. How 'bout the weather today? It was gorgeous here in Northeast Ohio.

Yes, as the above posters said - you can have 5+an infant in a Poly room. 2 each in the beds, 1 on the day bed and then a crib or pack and play. My kids are such goof balls - it's just the four of us, so we could just use the beds. But first trip they fought over sleeping on the chair with the little ottoman. Last trip they shared the daybed! Heck, DH and I spread out and each took a bed!

Thanks for the smile and chuckle that this gave me today:lmao:

I am so excited about my news that I had to share with my Poly friends....

Our friends called me last night and said "BOOK IT!" So I booked their trip (they were ready with their credit card even ;)) and then I booked ours.
Holy beans, I'm going back!!!! 3rd times a charm. We'll be there 7 (SEVEN!!!) nights in September. I'm so excited!!!! And we used the 40% off. This was only a few dollars off the buy 4/get 3 deal we booked under for April 2009 so I'm stoked to get such a great deal. :cool1::cool1:

I told my kids (I can't keep anything as a surprise and I like to plan with them anyway) and they were so happy they were going back to the Poly. They didn't like BC as much - even the pool - yes, we are the family that doesn't think SAB is all that.

Ok, I'm rambling now but I'm so excited!!!!!!
:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm going to change my signature now...

That is wonderful! We went to see the BC and my kids said they would rather stay at the Poly. I am really good with that.:thumbsup2

Any suggestions for room requests for Garden View? We would like to be near the pool, not sure what building to ask for. Thanks in advance for any help.

I loved Figi. It was close to the Volcano pool, GCH, boat launch to MK and the quiet beach! You will not be disappointed:thumbsup2

I am soo jealous! we leave in 11 days and my wife slips on a curb and breaks her ankle! she gets an ECV and I have to walk!... it isnt right! :rotfl2:

Just trying to look at the positive side of a terrible incident! I tell her we can change our reservation to when she heals and she says NO ( I think she likes ECV'S) so watch out all! we are getting the fastest one we can find! :lmao:
special advice to anyone going to Disney that will be using an ECV, do not rent it from the parks! we saved $200 renting it from an outside contractor. and they deliver and pick up at resort for free.

all of you Poly Lovers that are going when we are there, take pity, and watch your TOES!

Bummer, but I'd be like your wife--it wouldn't stop me either! :rotfl2:

Even though I've stayed at the Poly twice before, I still have questions! There is so much to see and do at the resorts and the parks that there are new things I discover each time I go. I have never seen the torch lighting ceremony and wondered if they still do that? If so, anyone know the days/times? How about hula lessons? And one more question (for NOW :lmao:), anyone take a recent picture of the pool bar menu/drinks? I'm curious what they are advertising now. Oh wait, one more question :rotfl2: - did they bring back the pool waitress?????

Thanks my Poly friends for all your help :goodvibes

I want the summer to last, but I can't wait to go to Disney in September!!!!

Wooo, what's the chair/ottoman combo? I'm trying to figure out how to sleep 3 kids in 3 different "locations" so they don't have to share beds... chair/ottoman sounds like it could be promising!

Pretty much just what it sounds like...a chair and ottoman. It's probably long enough for a four or five year old when the ottoman is pushed next to the chair.

You get a disability pass and get on the rides quicker!

Thats not true, most of the lines in Disney are mainstreamed to allow Wheelchairs and ECV through. MK less so because of the age of the park. There maybe seperate boarding areas for those who cannot transfer out of their chairs and need to wait for special ride vehicles to come by, so you get to wait longer times in those cases.

Guess who is no longer driving to Disney in June--that's right it's us! :cool1::banana::worship:

Good news is I scored four r/t tickets on Spirit for $18 each. Bad news is we have to fly into Tampa and will have to rent a car. Great news is the flight times are awesome--departure day arriving in Tampa at8:30 and not departing Tampa until 9:30ish p.m.

Guess I better get busy educating myself on TPA and locating a rental code. :rotfl::goodvibes:cool1:

Anybody have information on Tampa? We've driven up from Fort Meyers on quite a few occasions, so I know it can't be that big of a deal to get from Tampa to Disney.

We've flown in there a couple of times when visiting the Florida gulf coast.
(Annia Maria Island is about 45 minutes south of there)
As I remember it's a pretty easy airport to navigate..no shuttle from the terminal to the gates that sort of thing. Easier than MCO.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but you could also request a blow up mattress from housekeeping. There is plenty of room next to the day bed for one..or near the chair/ottoman.

I can answer a few of your questions. They do have the torch lighting ceremony at 6 pm. It starts in the lobby and moves outside. I made my two boys RUN with me from Tahiti last Tuesday to the lobby in flip flops so we wouldn't miss it!!! It is pretty neat. I am not sure what days they have it but when you check-in, I would just ask.

They also have the hula lessons on Saturday for sure. The day we checked-in they were happening in the lobby. My family didn't participate but it looked fun. I think they were going on for awhile that afternoon.

The pool bar menu.... well, I frequented the pool bar a little too often :lmao: but I did not notice any food items but on the other hand, I wasn't looking for food:rotfl:. The drinks I tried were all good including the Mango Margarita, Poolside Lemonade, and of course, the PinaColava. My husband had the Yeunling, Blue Moon, and one other beer and said they were good too! As far as a pool waitress, I did not see one the four times we swam in the pool or any other time we were there. Maybe that is a summer service?

Hope this helps!!!!:dance3:

Please don't state things like this, if a CM got you on the rides quicker they weren't following policy. It is not true and when things like this are spread around people that do not need the GAC try to get one.

Thank you so much for posting this. You are 100% correct.

The GAC is not intended to get a guest on the rides quicker, it is designed to allow the CM to accomodate the needs stated on the card. I can state this as fact because my b/f is in a wheelchair and we have had one before.

Thanks auntie--I took a peek at the website and it looks much easier than MCO, Detroit, or O'Hare. Now we will need to get good driving directions. :thumbsup2

Well my original plan was to bring one, but then when I emailed the IPO re linens (asking if we brought a twin air mattress did they have some extra or should we bring some) they told me there is no room for an air mattress in the room. :confused3 I'm sure we could fit one in there since the rooms are much bigger than the values (and people get them in those) so I figured I would bring it up again as our dates got closer (and hope for a better response). Do you know for sure they have the blow up ones there to borrow? The chair/ottoman bit sounds like it could work as well if my kids end up not "bunking" well together. I'm more or less planning for just in case. ;)

I'd say there's plenty of room for a twin mattress, just may need to do a little rearranging of the chair/ottoman and the little table there. Probably depends on how big your youngest is. My kids were just barely 3 and almost 5 that first trip. They were OK on it, mostly for naps, not at night, but they're also both small for their age. I would guess that a large 5 year old may not find it comfortable for all night sleeping, every night. However, you could also probably easily get the 2 youngest on the day bed. Ours did that last trip (just 5 and almost 7). They slept head to feet at opposite ends.

Got my email from the Poly IPO welcoming us!!
And I picked all our ADRs and we decided to do the Wildlife Excursion again(just love it).

Also called them with my credit card info. for the V&A ressies and they were so nice.:santa::wizard:
Boy I can't wait.
