WARNING: OCD Mom asking a completely OCD question
I see in these pics kids playing in the sand at the "beach." I've read about the amoeba in the water and how you cannot swim in it. But is it safe for the kids to plunge a bucket to use in molding and playing in the sand? Or should I keep the kids totally away from the water?
Question #2: I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to do breakfast at Captain Cook's with snack credits. Has anyone used snack credits at Captain Cook's in the morning? What did you get?
Can't let this thread fall too far off first page.I love looking at the photos, although it's adding to my torture of a wait.
Anyone else drive themselves nuts while waiting for their trip? I've been going back and forth about upgrading to CL or adding the dining plan or....
Neither of those would be worth it or cost effective in my case for this trip, but I'm debating myself anyway!![]()

I'm sooooo glad for these Disney resort forums, as it's comforting to know there are others out there just like me
My trip is still over 150 days away, and here I am
One comment on the dining plan, to me, it's more than just saving, or not saving money, as the case may be. By nature, I'm a cheapskate, to a fault. I'd drink water at every meal, never have deserts, have the kids split their fries, etc... And I really don't even enjoy doing it. The dining plan is a god-send! My family can get whatever they want, we can get deserts, appetizers, the works. I know I may even loose money on it, but I don't care, I'm footloose and carefree at every meal...priceless!
It hasn't been easy. Fortunately, I'm hosting a Mother's Day lunch for both my mom and M.I.L on Sunday, so I'm busy organizing that. All the kids and I will spend Sat. morning at Costco, and then the afternoon preparing everything for Sunday. Then Monday while they are at school, since even the 4yo goes to JK, the truck wil be packed. DH will keep the little ones busy and I'll hit the hay about 8pm Monday. I'll probably need drugs to sleep![]()
When I made the drive on Xmas night last yr it was through freezing rain and I drove for 17 straight hrs, with all the kids!!!
This will be a piece of cake, and I love driving at night. I know it sounds crazy![]()

I do the same thing...price out this, price out that. I don't know why!?!? Was debating switching to AKL CL for about the same price as what we have now at Poly GV but the pics a few posts up remind me why I picked Poly to begin with! You are not alone!![]()

Hello everyone, we're back from our 8 day vacation at the Poly. We LOVED the Poly. The theming, the scents, the room size, the CM's, Capt Cooks, Ohana's, Kona Kafe. There really was nothing that we didn't like about it. Ok, the laundry facilities were sadly lacking. Half the washers were broken and out of service, the coke machine ate my money but I didn't let it get to me.. we were on vacay!! We were booked for a GV room but at checkin a really great CM upgraded us to a lagoon view. We were in room 1412 in Tuvalu. We were awestruck at the view. The GF was to the left, the MK in front of us and Space Mt to the right. We have 3 small kids so the monorail was priceless to us. We visited other resorts but nothing compared to the Poly. We're going back in 2 years (once our baby is about 3) and we're def. staying at the Poly.
Our last night there we ate at Ohana's (SO GOOD) and we went back to our room to watch the water parade and wishes. My 6 yo DS started to cry because our stay was coming to a close. This was the best vacation of our lives.
Hello everyone!! Just upgraded from CBR to poly last night!! I'm so excited!!
