Have any of you eaten breakfast at GF's 1900 Park Fare? We have an 8 am ADR at 1900 Park Fare. We are then planning to drive to AK, for the morning. Does it make more sense to take the monorail to/from Poly; walk to/from Poly or drive to GF. Read somewhere that the GF parking lot is far away, so not sure if it makes sense to drive only to park far away.

Also, if we want to take a boat to Hoop Dee Doo should we take it from CR or from MK?

I would take the monorail TO GF and then the boat back to Poly, or walk back.

I'd probably just walk to GF from the Poly. Early in the morning it is a really lovely walk. Or you can take the resort monorail to GF and walk back. If you take the monorail back you have to make the whole loop.

I can't help you on the transportation to HDDR.

Next Sunday.
I can already smell the lobby.
That sounded weird, but honestly the Polynesian Lobby has this smell of magic.

Be still my heart!!!! Oh, the smell of that Lobby. I truly do not understand those who say they hate the smell and could never stay there...but that's okay, to each their own...but wish they would not put down the resort, call it old fashioned and worn out. It is none of those things.:sad2:

Ya know, I very much like a few other resorts and LOVED my stays at GF (due to our room location), but absolutely nothing can compare to our beloved Polynesian....which will forever be the Polynesian Village to me. Why did they ever change that lovely name anyway?? :confused3

Also, if we want to take a boat to Hoop Dee Doo should we take it from CR or from MK?

For the Hoop-dee-doo, I'd take the water launch to MK and the water launch to Ft. Wilderness...some might take the monorail to MK, then water launch, but I love the boats. Or, monorail to CR, then water launch, but that's out of the way. You'd have to go 3 stops to CR, then go to the lobby level, walk out to the dock for the Ft. Wilderness water launch. Hope this helps! :)

I'd take it from MK, unless you are already at CR. The monorail to CR is slightly longer than the monorail to MK (or you could take the boat from Poly to MK), and it's slightly easier to transfer to the boat at MK than CR (slightly longer walk to dock at CR). Coming back from HDDR, take the bus to the TTC or the boat to either CR or MK, whichever comes first.

I am certainly glad I am not the only one who has fallen in love with the smell of the Polynesian lobby.
OH and the sound of the waterfall...puhhh-LEASE!

Another Poly lobby-lover here! The sound, smells, sights....aaaahhhhh....

Ahh the Poly lobby, picture it, May 9, 1988, you are on your honeymoon. It's your first time away (with each other) and you walk into the lobby like a slacked jawed yokel. The smell that assaults you is the smell of gardenia. 22 years later, the smell of gardenias brings you back to the Poly lobby. Ahh the Poly lobby. One of the best moments of our lives, to date. (Other then the boys births and our wedding day) OK, back to reality..... 11 days and counting

Wow, you're getting close! Have a great time!!!

You are all making me so excited about my upcoming trip to the Poly! I took dd5 and dd8 in 07 and 08 and we stayed at Pop. I got re-married last summer and we are all going in 6 weeks (including dsd8). I have dreamed about staying at the Poly! We have a GV room and I haven't made a room request. We definitely want a balcony or patio, but I can't decide which building is better.

The beat building to be in is the Hawaii bldg!! But If I had to choose another building, the best would be the one I am assigned!

The closest of the three longhouses mentioned above to the GCH would be Tuvalu, but none of them are that far.

maiapapaya and I posted at the same time! I just pulled out my map, and I agree that Tuvalu is JUST A LITTLE closer to GCH than Aotearoa. I had forgotten that Tonga is between GCH and Aotearoa, I had thought Aotearoa was adjacent to GCH. Anyway, they are both very close! And Tahiti is just a little further, afterall, the grounds are pretty compact. FYI, many have stated that they thought their rooms in Tahiti were way too far from GCH, though I personally have not found it far.

Ok, I must disagree. Not trying to start anything, but this just isn't right. I stayed in Aotearoa last summer. It is equal distance from the GCH as is Figi. Turn left into Aotearoa or right into Figi. This would be their end entrances closest to GCH. Since you have to walk past Figi, the whole length of the building to get to Tuvalu, then Tuvalu is definitely not closer. Just trying to clarify. So it is a little bit farther. However, I don't think I would be happy to pay the price for a TPV and be in Aotearoa since it is so far back off of the beach.

I can't believe I have less than a week until I'm at the Poly!! I guess I should bring the suitcases up?? Does anyone know the exact address to have water shipped to the Poly? Thanks!
