You can enjoy wine at the beach, but you can't drink it out of a glass or bottle (plastic only). For safetly reasons (to protect bare-footed guests from stepping on broken glass), there is a no glass rule at all of the pools and beaches. If you buy wine at Tambu Lounge, tell then you are taking it down to the beach. If you buy a bottle and pour it in your room, use a plastic cup.

HI Applesister! Welcome to the Poly thread and congrats on booking a theme park view. We just stayed in a TPV the end of February and I am still dreaming about (and severely missing) our views from Tuvalu! There's a very funny debate on here between the Tahiti vs Tuvalu lovers. Tahiti used to be the most requested non CL TPV, but many of us have stayed recently in Tuvalu with a wonderful experience and fantastic, unobstructed views. If you look back on page 35 of this thread, I just posted a bunch of pictures of what the view looked like from our balcony, as well as a few pics from the area around Tuvalu. Have fun in your planning!

Now that I have read this WHOLE thread, I can see the Tahiti/Tuvalu wars heating up! I haven't requested either one...I went to Tikiman's site as well and they both look fabulous. Perhaps someday I can book another Poly trip and try the other longhouse!

I am so excited...only 18 days to go! Now, since I am usually a YC fan and have never stayed at the Poly before...what shouldn't I miss? This is an adults only trip Sunday May 2-Thursday May 6.

Our Poly arrival tradition is we usually get to the Poly via ME in the mid to late afternoon and check in. We check out the room and change our clothes we brought in our carry on luggage. After a quick snack in the lounge or CC we head to the MK boat launch and go to the MK no matter what time it closes, which all of our trips happen to be at 7pm because it has always been a party night wheather MVMVP or MNSSHP. The last trip we arrived at the resort at 5pm but we had to go to the MK!!! I have to walk Main Street and see the castle!

We take our time strolling down Main Street with big smiles on our faces and taking our traditional castle pics. After that we head to Dumbo and ride it. Then we just wander and ride a few rides that have fairly short waits.

Usually by then we need to leave because the park is closing to non party guests so we monorail back to the Poly, stop in the lounge for some food and drinks and then head back to the room where our luggage is waiting for us from ME, I unpack and get the room sqaured away while DD and DH explore the Poly (and usually set up DDs "welcome gift from Mickey and Minnie"

I meet up with them we hit Boutiki and check out all their fabulous goods and then Trader Jacks and then we watch fireworks and then head to bed to get a good night sleep so we can start our first full day fresh

Our last day is basically the same but in reverse...we pack up, check or baggage in at RAC and then head to the MK once last time. We usually race back to the resort to grab our carry on luggage and catch ME back to the airport. It is always the same, we are all tired and crabby and beyond sad to leave the Poly

With our last trip our flight arrived around 1:30. We took the ME to Poly as well. We checked in, checked out our room and then headed to the MK. I can't remember what time we actually made it to the MK, but we had plenty of time to get a GAC for DD5, eat a little snack, stroll up Main Street and hit about five rides before a 6:30 ADR at CM (mind you it was the end of October and the rides were pretty much walk on).

DH and I will be traveling with DD who will be 9 when we go. It is possible that my mother and step-father MIGHT join us. If they do, we will be paying for their trip.

We wasted an hour trying to get to and from ASMo last time we were there. Money is an issue, but I'd also like to be on the monorail to maximize our time at MK and Epcot. Would it be more cost effective to get two rooms at the poly or get a suite if my parents join us? I read somewhere that you can't use PIN codes on suites, is that true? I'm really hoping they'll be a 40% off deal or something similar to the 4/3 deal that was offered, but if not a suite would definitely be out and of course it will factor into where we can afford to stay.

Any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated.

You are correct that you can't use the pin code on the suites, but you can use a pin code on up to 3 rooms booked on the same ressie. So, the cheapest you could do with be 2 GV rooms with a pin code. Now if you don't mind sharing a room, 5 people can stay in one room. There are 2 queen beds and a sofa that folds out to a daybed. This would be the cheapest with a pin code all together.

I second this!! Suites at the poly run $1500-$2850 a night!

Woo-hoo!!!! Heading back to the Poly on May 15th!!! My mom and I (family business) will be heading to Orlando in May for a conference and she suggested staying at Disney instead of at the Gaylord Palms (which I hear is also very nice....but I'm not gonna argue about staying at the Poly!)

SO we booked Lagoon View...and now I'm not sure which longhouse to request. Tahiti? Tuvalu? I like having a balcony and Tuvalu doesn't have any on the 2nd floor and all of Tuvalu 3rd floor is MK view. Not sure about ground level Tuvalu. Tahiti is very nice but a bit further out. Hmmm....any suggestions from you fellow Poly lovers??

We have booked a MK view. My husband is now questioning this decision thinking we might be better off with a lagoon view. His problem is that the Aotearoa is listed as a possibility for a MK choice and we can't figure out how this Longhouse can possibly have a MK view.

Is this wrong? Is it possible to have a room in Aotearoa and have a MK view? And would we want this?

This is our first time staying at the Poly and I am so excited. We've been to WDW many times and have been to the Poly many times for dinner and drinks.

I would put in a request for either Tahiti or Tuvalu and that would lessen (though not guarantee) your chances of Aotearoa. MK view is so worth it - it would be a shame to cancel that out of the fear of getting Aotearoa. According to Tikiman, Aotearoa only has 8 MKV rooms, whereas Tahiti has 46 & Tuvalu has 21. If you request "Tahiti or Tuvalu" the odds would be pretty good of not being put in Aotearoa.

If you don't want to have a room with no "outdoor space" (ie. patio or balcony) then yes, you should request 1st or 3rd floor (since Tuvalu doesn't have balconies on the second floor).

Ive only read the first 10 and last 10 pages of this thread. I stopped and ran to the phone to make a longhouse request as soon as I read you could. I am reserved in a garden view room and requested rarotonga. Did I just make a big mistake? I dont care what Im looking at, but are the rooms old and small?

None of the rooms are what I would consider small. Check out tikimans site and it will tell you the square footage of the rooms in each building. The rooms are much larger than a value or a moderate.

I set up my camcorder to my big screen TV and I've been watching the EWP, Wishes, and the many different snippets of the castle/ferries/monorail and I'm having those "I need to go back to the Poly again" feelings! And of course if we return, it will have to be TPV again...once you have that view, there's no going back! And of course, we all know what I would request! I definitely can't afford it next year, but I'm wondering if maybe I could stay for like three nights, and split it with the Dolphin or something? Hmmmm...lots of time to ponder, but just needed to share with you guys. I'm having that PPDD again, and it's hit me hard...especially when I'm typing this and my screen is full of the castle changing colors while I hear those ferry horns! I MISS THE POLY!!!

I would stick with your MK view plans and not worry, even if you do get Aotearoa. We were just there in Feb and we got Tuvalu, but I walked around in front of Aotearoa and the views there were really pretty as well. Maybe not right on top of the water or beach, but still beautiful! I posted a few pics from Aotearoa back on page 35 of this thread. There is nothing like an MK view, you will not regret it!
